How to delete alternate names?

I have two alternate names that were never used in any of my credits. I would like them to be deleted from my page but the system doesn’t give an option to delete or correct that field. How can I do that? My correct, legal name that I have always used professionally is John.

Hi John,

The 'alternate names' information on a filmography page is meant to include every instance of a person's name. This information is mostly derived from on-screen credits and may therefore include spelling variations due to actual typographical errors in films' main or end titles. This is also done so that anyone searching for a name which appears in the on-screen credits of a film will be directed to the page belonging to the correct person, even if the on-screen credits feature a different spelling.

We believe the data listed in the 'alternate names' section of your page is accurate. Since it's our policy never to remove or alter factual information, we cannot delete it. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Please rest assured, you're not being singled out; the majority of people listed in the database who have ever used or have been known under an alternate name (no matter how facetiously or infrequently or how long ago) or have been miscredited due to a typo during their career have similar listings.

See, for example:

For the sake of accuracy and consistency we must apply the same rules to all thenames/credits stored in the database.

Hi Meredith,

Thank you for your response.

I’m a little bit confused about why it is believed that the ‘alternate names’ section of my page is accurate. The reason being that spelling John, with an ‘h’ and no middle name, is how I’ve always had my name in every credit I’ve ever had. The previous listings as ‘Jon’ and ‘John Paul’ are not accurate and have never been used professionally or otherwise.

Additionally, one of the credits for my most recent project, Dysfunction, is in pre-production and hasn’t even been filmed yet but my name is already listed incorrectly with the alternate name, 'Jon'.

I believe my problem is the very same as this question that seems to have been resolved with no issue whatsoever:

Thank you for taking the time to reconsider my request. And if your answer is still the same, at the very least would it be possible to change my most recent project that hasn’t even been filmed yet?

This poster image for a 2012 title used the spelling "Jon".   Was it in error?

Amazon uses the spelling "Jon" in its listings for the titles shown here:
