How can I get the Title and year of of a movie already in IMDB corrected?

I produced, directed and a movie which had a limited released in Los Angeles in 1996. IMDB shows the wrong name for the Title and year of release of the movie for 1997. Problem seems to be that a film with the identical title was made in Switzerland in 1997 and I cannot find a way to get this corrected! I submitted the Poster (One Sheet) and the submission was rejected for the following reason, "Lack of supporting evidence" - This confusion is keeping me from properly updating stills and properly listing the cast, etc.  Many of the subsequent submission of still frames from the movie have also been rejected with the reason: Badly Formatted?  What does that mean?  I was originally able to submit a few photos before which were formatted identically. The IMDB description of formatting is also confusing. Help!

Is this the film?

Both release date and title correction can be found in the menu after you click Edit page.

A release date addition should have "Los Angeles" in the attribute field. The title year would automatically change based on the release date. If you have any links as evidence you can include them in the submission.

A title correction will probably also require some evidence in the form of a link and/or a screen grab of the on-screen title, which you could upload in a reply in this thread.

That there is another film with the same title shouldn't be a problem, but you may want to start with the release date and then do the title correction later.

Yes, that is the film. It appears that I had to submit Bad Business (1996) as a new title to the IMDB database which I did. I am also submitting a screen grab of the main title here.  Hopefully these steps will help getting the the correction made. I thought it would be easy to change one letter. (:

Submitting a new title might create create a duplicate listing, if approved. If so they can be merged.

A title correction to the existing title should be sufficient. You can include the URL address of this post so the data managers can see your screen grab.

After trying for some time, the IMDB algorithms  would not let me just change the name as the film was not in their database, so I went ahead and entered it. Yes I suppose it will create a duplicate which then can hopefully merged.
Thanks,

The struggle continues, but I am getting closer. The change was rejected because the year of both films release must be the same. I managed to get the year of the mis-named title changed. It now displays correctly (1996) in IMDB, but I didn't receive any official notification from the editors. However, I tried to change the title and the form rejected, responding that the years must be correct.  According to the listing they are! Any idea what to do next. A human editor and not an a software algorithm could have fixed this on day one!  More advice needed.

If they're the same film, they should be merged. From the Big Business page, you can submit a title correction and enter:

Bad Business (1996) (V)

You may want to include the link to this thread in the explanation box.

Peter, You've been a great help. Almost there. Merged! Looks like one last problem. The poster was lost in the transition, but expect it to be fixed by tomorrow. The last thing is in the title Merge, the full correct "name" cast, including the lead role was lost. IMDB tries to put in the cast names alphabetically, rather than in order of importance. Any suggestions for me to control order of names of featured cast?
Many thanks.

You can add/edit cast order numbers in the edit feature for the cast. They should be based on screen credits:

"Acting credits are ordered according to the most comprehensive cast list (the one listing the most actors); in most cases, this will be the list appearing in the end credits."
