Hello. A big thanks in advance as all the sudden high on google searches of my name is an IMDB credit. I am not an actor, have never been. The credit is incorrect (my name is very unique) and I was curious as to how I go about getting it corrected. Thanks!

Have you seen the movie? If not, it would be hard to say the credit is incorrect. And while your name is unique, I'm guess it is not singular. From Google, I can see a Baker Montgomery in Chicago and Dallas (and I assume these aren't the same person) plus a business called Baker Montgomery.

Thank you for your reply! I did watch the movie out of curiosity (do NOT recommend) and the actor is certainly not me. This film is from 2006 so it was hard for me to even remember this but a friend at the time from work was trying to be involved somehow in movies. He asked me if I wanted to be eaten by a dinosaur in a movie and I said absolutely. But my schedule wouldn't allow it and I've never even been anywhere near a movie shoot. I am not in the movie, and have never been in any movie. The reason I brought up the rarity of my name (other than my relative in Dallas, there are no other people with Baker as a first name combined with our surname. I've looked. The Chicago one is the business you cite.) is that the imdb result pops up very high on the results page. It's inaccurate and I would really appreciate further instruction on how to remove it. Thank you very much, I really appreciate your time.

The question isn't whether the actor is you but was the actor credited with the name "Baker Montgomery".

I was able to find a copy of the movie and the credit is mostly correct. (The character should be Stereo Gang Guy #3 instead of Street Gane Guy #3). That doesn't mean it is you. It just means the actor used that name.

Unfortunately, there isn't much IMDb can do about how Google ranks the search results.

Thank you for all your help. What avenues are left for me to pursue? As I see it, the likkely hood that some actor used my name just once time in 2006 is highly remote. The credit is an error and I'm just trying to have that rectified on IMDB so that when my name is googled, it doesn't come up. Any further help is greatly appreciated!

Realize first, I'm just a user here. I don't speak for IMDb. However, since they can confirm that "Baker Montgomery" is credited in this movie, I doubt they will delete the credit. I don't know what avenues you could explore for with Google to change the search rankings.

Also, while it might be inconceivable that someone random actor is named "Baker Montgomery", it could have been a nom de plume  for starring in a bad movie that could be someone's middle and last name or mother's maiden name and his surname or any other weird issue.

Hi Bmont -

Since the name was credited in the on-screen credits of the film, the credit is accurate and will need to remain on the IMDb site, as per our policy.

Concerning Google, all our pages are indexed automatically by search engines. We don't submitindividual pages to Google or to any other search engine and have absolutelyno control over how they appear or are ranked in their results.
