Honorarium/Pub Shot uploads

Recently, my mother passed away and I was looking for a way to add publicity photos to her IMDB profile. I have been updating both hers and my fathers pages for some time but have never been able to upload pictures. I think this is a different request than having the ability to upload pics thru an (ongoing) Pro account and using the resume service. This is a bit different. Is there such a service or feature that would allow me to add publicity shots from the shows she worked on and not have to pay to maintain the display of photos? This is more memorializing her career.

Thanks for your time.

Hi ravedog -

Unfortunately, we do not currently offer the option to post a single/multiple  photo for any unsubscribed filmography page on our site.

Please bear in mind that an IMDbPro subscription is required to display photos and/or detailed resume information on filmography pages at this time.  If, in the future, we create a memorial service to display photos for friends and loved ones who have passed away, we'll announce it prominently on the site.

Hi Michelle!

Well I understand that as a "resume" service the photos would last as long as the account continues to be paid. Makes perfect sense. However, I think in this case she no longer needs a resume (unless she's still looking for a gig where ever she may be right now). Haha (too soon?)

It's quite an expense to pay for an account in perpetuity just to maintain her photos. I got to thinking... a lot of publicity shots from productions on people's profile pages are submitted by the production company for that particular show, and as such will stay. However, since IMDB didn't exist back when she was working, it goes that there would never be that link today, at least not retroactively... no one is going to submit stills from Have Gun Will Travel or Gunsmoke or the like.

Since IMDB was create originally as a curated fan site of sorts (and still mostly is) that IMDB would be even more richer in it's depth if somehow people could add photos from older productions to the entries on the site (I know this may be a nightmare to coordinate and approve but I can imagine there are many images out there in peoples possessions that would add value. And then there's copyright, I'm sure.)

Let's face it, I can safely say that If an person is searching for a show or production person or actor or actress, they now go straight to IMDB (or even by way of Google), so it goes that IMDB has lived up to it's name sake. Why not expand it's content as much as possible.

Maybe these things I mention are ones that are wanted but resources are tight. I just hope that you and others at IMDB can make this work. (Are you hiring, even if it's gratis? Haha)

Thanks for your time again.

Garrett: I would recommend instead that you put up a separate web page (not on IMDb) with the pictures of your mother. You may be able to find a free hosting service or at least one that costs a lot less than an IMDbPro subscription.

Then submit the image gallery page to IMDb as an External Site (starting from your mother's IMDb name page, click "Edit page", and then under Links to Other Sites, on the "Image/Photos" line, select "Add 1 item).

While this will not be the same as having the photos available on IMDb itself, it will enable IMDb users to find the pictures.

I hope this helps.

Hey gromit82!

Not a bad idea. I can do that in the interum until IMDB see the error of their ways (kidding). Here's hoping that the council (IMDB) will take in my ideas

Thanks again
