Hi Alexis,
What are you trying to do - being specific will help get a better answer.

So are you trying to merge IMDb user accounts (regular or Pro) or do you mean there are 2 name pages on IMDb where they are both the same person?

Bob the moo - I have the following 2 accounts - http://www.imdb.com/name/nm5453337/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1 and http://www.imdb.com/name/nm6635828/?ref_=fn_al_nm_2  They are both non paid accounts.  I created 1 and I believe the 2nd one was created when a project person added the project and me.  I want everything to be displayed on 1.  How do I do that?  Thanks

Douglas DeLisle is on 1 which I want to keep

Douglas Len DeLisle which is 2 is the one I need merged with 1  (as shown above nm_1 and nm_2)

Douglas,

Neither of those is an account (paid, nor pro).

Notice the "...name/nm###" in both.  If you also have a user account, it shows "...user/ur####" (IMDb is made up of "Name" pages and "Title" pages).

An "account" is something you create to be able to log in and use the features of the site (posting on message boards, making lists, rating movies, choose settings for the way the site displays to you and also to add/correct data in the database. If you have a user account, if you log in to your account and look at the url, it'll include the "user/ur.."

Name Pages are created by IMDb and are part of the database of film/tv information.

There are two ways to create a Name Page.  Either add a credit to a Title page (and if there is not a page in that name, one is created automatically) or join IMDb Pro and create one.  It looks like, for your name, one of each was done.  It's always best to check first to see if there is a name page there and claim that one rather than create a new one to claim.

To "merge" the two into one, you'd use the instructions from You have two separate pages for the same person, how can this be fixed?

If your working name, as you'll appear in credits going forward, is "Douglas DeLisle" you'll "correct" the other Name Page to be the same.  Can you confirm how your name appeared in the credits for Illume the Movie ?  This can be added to your other page, but I am assuming you were credited as "Douglas Len Delisle" as that's what the page indicates.  So, if moved to the page named "Douglas DeLisle," the difference needs to be indicated there if you were credited that way or not credited on screen.

I can do the merge for you or give step by step help, but that needs to be acknowledged.

Thanks very much for your info.  The Director of Illume the Movie added this credit using my Facebook name (Douglas Len DeLisle) which is not where I have most of my credits.  I have another credit to Douglas Len DeLisle for the movie Krissy Belle that is in process.  Therefore it is best that I way till that one makes it through and then do the merge.  If I have problems doing that from the instructions you pointed out, then you may hear from me again.  Appreciate your response!!!

When you say, "added this credit using my Facebook name.." do you mean added it to IMDb or added it to the on screen credits.  Not to belabor the point, but it makes a difference how it's listed in IMDb.  If in the credits, but on a page with a different spelling, an attribute should be added for "(as Douglas Len DeLisle)" or else it'll likely keep getting changed back to the way it was, as if it's two different people.

But, anyway..post back if you need help.  But, please start your own thread as, if it's about different pages of the database other than the issue that started the thread, you might not get noticed (and the person who started the thread is probably getting email notifications that there are more answers to the main issue).

Good luck!

1 is a regular imdb account and I think the other may be an imdb pro account.  When I try to change the picture on this account, it says I need to pay.  Yes 2 name pages where both are the same person. I am looking to keep just one regular IMDB account and have that page have my credits and my picture.  Right now the page with my picture only is an imdb account and the other with my credits is an IMDB pro account.

Alexis,
i think you are confusing 'name pages' and accounts....but it is hard to say.

Assuming you are talking about name pages, I am a little confused as I only see one Alexis Heller listed on IMDb....so nothing obvious to merge....

Maybe it would help if you posted links to the two pages you want to merge....then there will be more clarity!

Here are the 2 links.
I might have the wrong terminology.
I'm pretty new to this whole thing

Alexis: One of those pages is an IMDb name page and the other is an IMDb user page. Those are two different types of pages and they can't be merged with each other.

To illustrate this, Marilyn Monroe has an IMDb name page which lists her credits, but no user page because she died long before IMDb existed. On the other hand, I have a user page because I use IMDb, contribute data, and participate on the message boards, but I don't have a name page because I haven't been in any movies. You have both kinds of pages because you work in television and also use the database.

Thanks Gromit82. That was helpful.  I don't really plan to contribute data or participate in message boards.  I just participated in this one because I needed some help and couldn't find a way to call or email anyone from IMDB.  I guess I will just use the one with my credits for now.  Is there some reason I can't add a picture? It seems to require I have an IMDB pro account which I don't want to pay for.

In order to upload pictures to the picture galleries on your Name page, you need to create a Resume subscription, which is done by upgrading your Account to Pro (which is a paid service) and then 'claiming your page'.

Note that any pictures added via Resume will disappear from the displayed pages if the Pro account is cancelled or allowed to lapse.

While you cannot actually load pictures for free, you can link to pictures (or a page of pictures) hosted on the web. These won't actually be uploaded to IMDb, bur rather linked via your External Sites sub-page.  Such links are added by clicking on the Edit page button on your Name page, then choosing to Add x items to Image / Photos in the Links to Other Sites . If you go this route, check the Images / Photos section in the Submission Guide: Links to External Sites (Names). The format of the  Description field is important, as the Data Managers will probably reject any that isn't done properly.
