Hi bderoes -

Thanks for reporting this submission, I have now approved the correction and the incorrect name attribute has now been removed from the credit.  Cheers!

Great, thanks! I see the change already.
2 questions:
1) Any advice for how to have made this clearer so it would not have been declined?

In the (beta) contribution history, it still says this was declined.
I understand that when a contributor gets enough "declined" contributions, it counts against their future contributions.
I see some posters on this forum with lots and lots of declined submissions that are subsequently approved.
2) Can you also remove the original "red mark" against the contributor?

Hi bderoes -

Please know that your submission explanation was clear, the issue was on our end processing the item and I have alerted the issue to the team.

Since the submission was initially rejected, the Contribution History will still record this status, as we cannot manually change it.

Regarding your concern about receiving "red marks" for badly rejected items that were later approved, rest assured that I have brought this issue up with the appropriate team who will review and address this issue going forward.

Here's another that deserves a more thorough look, and for which I believe I supplied sufficient information (not related to G.Mangione):

Hi bderoes -

To clarify, are you trying to remove the image because it doesn't belong to this title?

Thank you, I see it's gone now.

Here's another (different title):
#190530-090009-817000
Only 1 piece remains declined: the Plot Summary deletion.
After that contribution, the title has 1 Plot Summary and 1 Plot Outline; I contributed the Outline (in that same contribution).
As stated in my deletion explanation, the "Wagner"-oriented plot summary is irrelevant on its face. This title is a Verdi opera, not a Wagner gala celebration.

When I contacted the help desk to review this (and they implemented the location deletion), they responded:
"Regarding the plot, instead of submitting a deletion request, please submit a correction to provide the correct plot for the title and our data editors will be able to review."

I replied that I cannot correct that summary, and had already submitted one (actually a plot outline) that's live on the page. I also provided links (google search) to that Wagner text in press releases for a title not on IMDb. I got nothing back, and the Wagner summary remains.

In addition to the plot removal immediately above, could you please also address this rejected submission from this weekend, another attempted image removal, obvious on its face that the cast does not match the title.
#190615-234544-471302: rm3719560704

This time the reason was
Does not meet contribution guidelines. Your contribution has been declined. Please review our submission guidelines.
That link goes to the table of contents for all submission guidelines, which is not particularly helpful. When I look at the page for  Images and Image Tagging, I don't find anything about removing an inappropriate image.

When I do a search of the help center for "remove inappropriate image", the most promising result is How do I report a photo issue to IMDb? which states
If an image is incorrectly tagged to a name or title or if a name or title is missing, please select the Edit Tags option below the image and follow the instructions. Please see the Image Submission Guide for details.

If there is another issue with an image (i.e. poor quality, duplicate, inappropriate, copyright infringement or otherwise incorrect), please select the Report This option below the image and follow the instructions.
At various times I've tried as my first step
1) Report This, got back that my request was not formatted correctly
2) contact form, got back boilerplate about submitting images
3) Edit Tags, this submission

Should I just give up on the forms and links provided, and post future image removal requests on Get Satisfaction first? Or can you identify something about what I did with this submission that triggered the rejection? Or must it always be a 2-step process, where the submission gets rejected and I then send a request via contact form? (Again, concerned with racking up rejections that make me less credible as a contributor.)

Thanks in advance.

Hi bderoes -

I have now removed both the incorrect Plot Summary and the Poster you reported.

Unfortunately, I can see that both submissions were incorrectly rejected on our end.  Please continue using the online update and report forms to address these type of inaccuracies on the site, and if you find submissions that shouldn't have warranted a rejection, please post those in this Get Satisfaction community for our staff to investigate further.
