Hi all,

Can the top 250 of imdb not be filtered on genre and year of release, with say checkboxes, by which one can precisely make one's own top 250?
Furthermore, wouldn't it be great if one could give several ratings to a movie (which can can then be filtered on). A rating for acting, story, CGI, originality, etc. This way a viewer can be even better informed about the movies he or she wants to see.

Greetings,

Please see advanced title search at http://www.imdb.com/search/title  (accessible from any IMDb page via the "Advanced search" option to the right of the search box).

Hi Harry de Boer,

You can filter the IMDb Top 250 by genre and other criteria using IMDb's Advanced Title Search.

For instance:

Most Popular IMDb "Top 250", Action Titles
32 titles
http://www.imdb.com/search/title?genres=action&groups=top_250

Most Popular IMDb "Top 250", Adventure Titles
57 titles
http://www.imdb.com/search/title?genres=adventure&groups=top_250

- - -

1. From the drop down menu select Advanced Search. This will bring you to the Advanced Search page.

2. Click on Advanced Title Search. This will bring you to the Advanced Title Search page.

3. Select Action under Genres.

4. Select IMDb "Top 250" under Title Groups.

5. Click the yellow Search  button on the bottom of the page.

This will produce:
Most Popular IMDb "Top 250", Action Titles
32 titles
http://www.imdb.com/search/title?genres=action&groups=top_250
