Films that didn't have public screenings

Hello there IMDb community.

I am writing with a question - I have a few very early films (some even from high school) listed on IMDb. I'm not sure how they managed to be uploaded to the database as they did not receive any kind of public screening, let alone any kind of release.

The two titles in question are:
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1332123/?ref_=nm_flmg_dr_8
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1473818/?ref_=nm_flmg_dr_6

Is there any way to speak to someone about this? I would love to know how how these were accepted! I was under the impression that the films had to have some kind of public release or festival run to be added to IMDb?

Many thanks in advance for your help :)

Jason

Hi, Jason:
I'm not sure how they managed to be uploaded to the database as they did not receive any kind of public screening, let alone any kind of release.
Actually, there's evidence that both titles are eligible to be listed in the database (eligibility criteria).

Regarding The Sun Seekers, the current 11 Nov 2009 release date is correct, as part of the Exposures Student Film Festival 2009:

On the other hand, Static seems that it was shot around 2006...

...and it indeed was selected for the BBC Big Screen Film Festival 2005/2006...

...and, most importantly, it was publicly available for streaming on that date:

Therefore, the current 2011 release year is incorrect. It should be changed to either 2005 or 2006. The last article was written on 28 Oct 2005 but ultimately updated on 24 May 2006, so I can't precise the exact date the streaming link was added. I've taken the "wary" route and submitted the 2006 release year (191017-100429-401000).

Cheers!

Hi Jason -

As ljdoncel pointed out in the above screen grabs, these titles were screened at festival.  Since we consider festival screenings to be a valid release, we will need to retain the title listings on the site.

I really appreciate you taking time to look into it for me.
