Film listing posted to IMDb by unknown source without approval is preventing me from posting proper credits

Last year, shortly after production, someone posted my film to IMDb titled "In A New York Minute". I requested the listing be taken down. We were unable to discover who made the posting so I don't know what evidence he or she used to prove the film's authenticity. This was disturbing as there were very important inaccuracies in the credits as well as serious legal matters which have since come up regarding certain credits related to the film.

Recently, I've made a completely new and accurate IMDb page based on the film's actual credits because the film will be screening at festivals next month. However, all my attempts have been rejected with this note.

"Your contribution has been declined.Your data referred to another item which has been declined or deleted, and this means that your data will not appear on the site. If you also submitted the original item and believe that it still warrants inclusion, please review the submission guide and resubmit."

Is this because of the original post from early 2018?
Is there any way for me to add my film to IMDb?

I am the producer asking for myself and on behalf of the writer/director and investors.

I cannot access the original thread with IMDb help desk about removing the listing. I believe it was not deleted or removed but either hidden or blocked to public view.

Wayne,

I am not sure to understand whether you create a brand new title page or tried to correct the exising one.

First, share the 18 digit IDs of your rejected submissions.
Seconfd can you provide screen captures which testify the correct credits and support your claim?

I created a new page as the previous one is either deleted or hidden from public view.

Yes, I have the film. I could post the end credits if that is needed.

Thanks.

Are you talking about this: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6235740/reference ?
Could not there be a chance of homonmy between 2 different productions?

If not, you are entitled, like any IMDb contributor to edit and correct the above entry to accurately match the actual credits.

How does it help?

Thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately, it's not that one. The film is title is "In A New York Minute". We discovered it online early last year and requested it be taken down or deleted as whoever made it posted information that would of been detrimental to the film such as saying it has distribution. It was removed by IMDb after a couple days online.

This is a screen shot of the original listing on IMDb. Our title has a capital "a" in In A New York Minute and should be listed as 2019. Also the release date of December 1, 2018 is a completely made up date.

Are the director and the stars correct?

Yes, most of the cast and filmmakers are correct. I think that may be a big reason why I am unable to post the listing I made because of the overlap.

You need a comment from an IMDb Employee on the status of your submissions.

Every single credit I inputed had this response from the submissions listed above.

And this as the status

I've tried to explain it as accurately as possible, outside of sending a private screener of the film.

If there are any IMDb representatives in these forums, I'd greatly appreciate any help in solving this matter. To not have an IMDb page when festival line ups are announced on April 1 would be devastating to the film's publicity. Whether it be approving my contribution #190329-080627-920000 (I resent again) or even putting the old page back up but with actual dates and correct name, both would be better than nothing.

Wayne,
An IMDb staff will eventually visit this topic.
But for your information, resending an unprocessed submission will do more harm than help...
Please check https://contribute.imdb.com/contributions/history (view details) to know the actual status.

Well, I am afraid we are tied to wait for an IMDb staff to visit this topic. Hopefully, the ones located in Britain should be around soon...

Hi Wayne -

I can confirm that your most recent new title addition (submission # 190329-080627-920000) for "In A New York Minute (2019)" is currently pending review by our editors.

As your title is pending, you can keep an eye and  track the status of your submission, if it has not been approved, we'll tell you the reason why.  If you are using the mobile apps, mobile website or desktop website you can access this feature via the 'Track your contribution' button, which has been added to the submission email receipt. Additionally, if you are using the desktop website, you will see the 'Track Contribution' button found in your contribution history page.

Each of my submissions have been rejected for the same reasons. Lack of evidence for proving the film's existence and all 150 credits due to previous deletion.

I'm confused as to what evidence I can give to prove it's existence that the previous poster made which was accepted. I've explained that the world premiere will occur at Newport Beach FF and provided the website link and a real date of premiere.

I've also tried explaining the problem based on the statement "your data referred to another item which has been declined or deleted." Is that referring to the original post that was removed in 2018? I'm not sure if I'm making it clear that someone made an IMDb page for the film which I requested it be taken down and now the reason for decline for all credit additions is that the data was previously deleted already. I am NOT the submitter of the original item.

I feel that I'm having to proving the title's existence but the credits are declined due it previously being deleted, having previously existed. So I'm confused as to how to explain to the editors of my situation.

Hi Wayne,

We have reviewed the supporting evidence you have provided with the title and can not find a reference to your title or the release date mentioned on the festival website, as such our data editors have been unable to verify the title. To assist our data editors with verifying you will need to resubmit the title providing further information or evidence of the titles existence.

Thanks
Meredith

A lot of festivals request an embargo until its official announcement. I've just tried resubmitting with a link to the film's official social media account where we've posted behind the scenes stills and have the official film festival laurel on the pictures. Would that be enough proof?

Also, I'm unable cannot access these previous deletion requests. There are in reference to the original film listing that was posted by an unknown source. Are these deleted after a certain amount of time?

I'm confused as what to put for evidence from 3rd party site under Misc. Links in order to prove the title's existence. IMDb does not accept the film's official accounts such as website, social media, etc. Nor does IMDb accept the film festival website when the line up has yet to be announced. How do most indie films prove their acceptance when they are finished filming but there hasn't been any news coverage?

This is one of the reasons why I'm confused as to how the film was able to be listed on IMDb last year by an unknown source.

It looks like the entry was finally approved, on the day of the festival announcements no less.

Thanks everyone for your contributions.

Hi Wayne Lin,

Thanks for confirming. It looks like the title has since been accepted now that you have provided the additional evidence and the title is live on the site - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10107868/

Levels of sources to confirm the title can vary from case to case, and what production status the title is submitted as when it is added to IMDb. It can also be linked to some of the names attached.

I hope this helps.

Regards,
Will

The tracking page said 2 credits were declined. However, on the actual IMDB page, I see both their names.

Their roles are credited as Casting Director and Chinese Casting Director. I can confirm they are both actors playing the roles of casting directors in case that is where the issue is.

Hi Wayne,

I've already resubmitted the names and I've accepted your order numbers to those credits now.
