Sorry, my fault. I should have double-checked before posting. In the future, give the post more than a couple minutes before posting about a simple error. The error will disappear usually within that time frame, when I give it a final check. When you post so quickly it prevents me from making any corrections to the header. In this case, I wasn't able to add PS: before the title.

Thanks, Rocky (1976)   Drama , Sport | 3 December 1976 (USA) didn't come up in the IMDb search, but I would have to agree. So, does Carl Weathers and others apparently. Carl Weathers debates whether Rocky is a sports movie or a love story

It was nominated for the American Film Institute Top 100 Passions but didn't make the final list

I can understand that. I can't see how CASABLANCA takes the top spot though.

It's a good question, very odd that the first four movies all have unhappy endings (or bittersweet) but if one had to take the top spot, it had to be Casablanca for its iconic value, I wish Rocky made the list, for me it's as much a romance as a sport movie... it did make the Thrills and Cheers list.

Just curious, Is 'The Sound of Music' your favorite movie from the group or is 'The Sound of Music' your favorite question or both? It made me wonder what my question is really asking?

Well, it was my favorite movie from the list, but I see you have since added Braveheart, so I would have to change my vote to that. :)

'Braveheart'  is same type of animal too, as The Sound of Music'. I don't think "romance" is the first or second genre classification that comes to mind immediately for either. Yet, both movies have a dominant enough romance subplot that justifies their inclusion as "romance" movies. While, I am not arguing either is a traditional romance movie, only that there is enough romance to justifiably classify them as such in the genre. I was asking only to validate the point of view or to see if my perspective is in the minority. I haven't heard an outcry on either inclusion or others, so I can only assume that no one has a strong problem with them being in the answer pool. I hope the change in the question that sets a lower romance bar with mollify those who disagree.

original question
Which of these Oscar-winning Best Picture movies* in the Romance genre is your favorite?

revised question
Which of these Oscar-winning Best Picture movies* with a romantic story line is your favorite?

If you can fit in the rest of the winners, why do you need a vote threshold?

They don't really add anything to poll other than make it longer. The last three, in particular as a group are the lowest IMDb rated Oscar winning romance movies: The Broadway Melody {1929} Oscar Best Picture Winner | Movie 6.2 (5,492) The Great Ziegfeld {1936} Oscar Best Picture Winner| Movie 6.8 (6,145) Cavalcade {1933} Oscar Best Picture Winner | Movie 6.0 (3,760). I would rather have the option of adding the 2019 or 2020 Oscar winner as a relevant viable answer option than have a bunch of zero vote options that no one has seen or if they had would be 30th choice. Ideally, I like my polls to have 25 to 30 viable answer options.

Most Voted Best Picture-Winning, Romance Feature Films
Title Type: Feature Film, Genres: Romance, Title Groups: Best Picture-Winning

PS:
There also maybe some titles that should qualify, like Rocky, Braveheart and Dances with Wolves, but may not be IMDb tagged in the Romance genre. I modified the question to encompass these grey area titles.

As Good as It Gets (1997) Thanks, It doesn't get any better than that when it comes to Oscar-Winning Best Picture romantic movies, but unfortunately it was only nominated for Best Picture and didn't win that year.
