I'm here to talk about fake reviews targeting a unreleased movie. And to explain every single part of that, I should talk about the political situation that Brazil is living, but no, I don't have time, patience and knowledge to talk about, so i'll be fast on this (also my english s****).
In a nutshell, a lot of people are propositally rating the film as 1/10 because of divergent political opinion!
In the last post I forgot to put some crucial infos on it, so here's the part 2
I don't have any idea if anyone at IMDB will see this but anyway...
I'm here to talk about fake reviews targeting a unreleased (on the movie theaters) movie (yeah, the movie was released in a Film Festival in Germany, but here in Brazil, the place where the hating is coming from, the movie will be released just in April 18th). And to explain every single part of that, I should talk about the political situation that Brazil is living, but no, I don't have time, patience and knowledge to talk about it, so i'll be fast on this (also my english s****).
The movie name is Marighella, and, in a nutshell, a lot of people are propositally rating the film as 1/10 because of divergent political opinion!
sorry for 2 same posts, i'm new here :)

A group that supports the Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro, is encouraging people to give fake reviews. This movie is not available in Brazil, so there is no much people that have been watching the movie.

Vincent Fournols :
Now, considering the controversies that are raging
in another topic around this film,
it may be that IMDb has suspended ratings while the situation cools off.

Various filters are applied to the raw data in order to eliminate and reduce attempts at vote stuffing by people more interested in changing the current rating of a movie than giving their true opinion of it. In order to ensure that our rating mechanism remains effective, we do not disclose the exact method used to generate the rating. However, please rest assured that the same calculations are used to generate the rating for every title listed in the database: we don’t adjust the rating for individual titles. There is no bias in how votes are weighted based on which title they have been cast for. ...I note that when The Promise (2016) had only been shown at one film festival and yet received thousands of politically motivated 1/10 votes, IMDb did not cut off voting for that film to protect it from negative votes. (See the discussion here and here.) Why, then, is Marighella receiving protection from negative votes? The same vote-weighting is supposed to be applied to all titles in the database.
In rare instances, usually centered around movies whose content or subject matter are perceived as controversial or polarizing, we may notice efforts to influence the user rating for a title via organized mass voting campaigns and other similar tactics.
While it is our policy not to remove valid votes, please remember that IMDb already calculates weighted user averages using a mechanism, applied to all titles, which takes into consideration numerous techniques to artificially inflate/deflate a title's rating, and attempts to neutralize their impact.
Why a respected service like that has deleted the reviews from users about the movie Marighella?
The reviews are from legitimate users who have come to give their opinion and discontent about this unethical movie by exalting a terrorist. Is it serious that IMDb is not interested in the true opinion of its users? Are they going to lose credibility like that?
This great amount of reviews did not happen because of political differences, it was due to the Brazilians' revolt at seeing a terrorist assassin being exalted in a movie as if it were a hero. It was the revolt of the Brazilians to see the money of the taxpayers being used to manufacture an immoral lie
It is completely undemocratic and biased to remove the evaluations of the film Marighella for denunciation of political act. It is an unprecedented and unsubstantiated decision but the word of another. Do not lose your credibility as a world reference in film assessments because of a militant pothead like director Wagner Moura. If there are disgruntled people with the film we have the right to misjudge at any time. What happens when the film is effectively distributed? We'il vote equally. Please restaud the evaluations, please restore your credibility. Grateful, Eduardo
Marighella’s rate and comments censored
Why the rate and comments of Marighella movie were removed?
I think this is censorship, right?
Wagner Moura called you guys crying and asked to remove it?

The brazilian movie Marighella, despite the fact that it didn't even been released in Brazil (it was censored by the fascist government) is now with incredible 42.200 votes, most of it coming from brazilian fascists who mobilize themselves to give the movie (about a libertarian guerrilla leader) low ratings (it is now with 3.0). Again IMDb is losing credibility by allowing this kind of attitude by people who didn't even see the movies. It is a disrespect with the users, the moviemakers and with cinema in general.
