Hmm... good question!  Terminator's are more hardy, but the Bionics are stronger, I think.  They're also very slow... I'll have to think about it!  :D

Okay, I have given the topic more thought and decided that the Terminators would kick the Bioncs' hineys.  :)

Disagree. The bionics are fast. The slow-no was used to show what they were doing because they moved so fast. The terminators were quick but not as fast as the bionics were. The terminators had to use motor vechicles to catch someone in a car. Steve Austin didn’t need a motor vechicle to catch someone escaping in a car. The problem is the bionics could tire out because of how their biological body parts working with the mechanical parts worked, thus casing them to slow down after a while. The terminators had more stamina. They didn’t tired out as bionics did. They just kept coming at you at a steady pace.

Thanks for weighing in.  :)  Yes, I see what you mean - but there are other aspects to my choice, too.  One of them being that Steve and Jamie were bionic, but still human.  They would get wounded, too.  Terminators do get beat up, but even when they are nothing but half of a skeleton they still keep on keepin' on.  :)  I hope this goes live soon; it is an interesting topic.

Yeah but we don't know when Slater took place! Yeah the movie was made in 93 but Slater could have taken place earlier.

Don't forget, he was driving a 69 Pontiac Convertible, and those "Bad Guys" were in a Red 1953 Ford F-1 Pickup. Slater is Timeless. Of course that's an 86-88 Ford Taurus in the Picture.

Well, we know it took place after '91, because Terminator 2 (shown at the video store scene with Stallone in the lead role) was at the video store!
BTW, at the end I seem to remember Jack yelling at his boss saying something about wanting a new, better car - I think his car's just fine!  :D

That could have been a dream sequence! Or they could have been hanging around with Doc and Marty! I could have swore I saw a Delorean somewhere in that car chase!

Okay, there's gotta be something in that movie that indicates year - is there a calendar?  Gotta check somewhere!

Okay, I've got two theories on the subject:
#1: Jack Slater takes place in '92-'93.
Most movies take place in the year of/year before their release, unless they are supposed to be futuristic or historical, which Jack Slater isn't.

#2: Jack Slater takes place in... WHO KNOWS???
Since this "movie world" is full of strange discrepancies, like other movie characters walking around, cartoon cats, weird styles, etc, maybe there is no real time era it's in.  It's just floating around there in movie-world.

I'd like to believe it's the 80's but it just doesn't look like it.

Movies like that are never year specific.
Think about this.
That same year Ford Taurus in the picture was used in the first RoboCop movie that's set in the future. They were not driving 70-100 year old Police cars now were they. The matrix was set ????? yet the drove around in a 1963 Lincoln Continental. Fantasy movies are set whenever your imagination thinks it is.

The point I was making is it is up to interpretation. It has no specific year. And it is not necessary to pick a year. Speculation was rampant as to what year Gotham is supposed to represent. It does not really matter except to a small minority. The majority could care less.
So as I said.

Year is in the, "Eye of the Beholder"

Yeah, that's what I meant, too - it's just there in movie-land, not supposed to be anything in particular.

Year is in the, "Eye of the Beholder"
That would make a great Twilight Zone episode!!!  :O
