Editing system broken

I was trying to edit the cast for an episode of Rosewood (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt6484372/) and when I get to the point where all edits should be valid, I go to a new screen that says "By the action of sending information to the Internet Movie Database (IMDb) via this form, you declare that the submitted data is correct to the best of your knowledge, not copyrighted by a third party and you hereby give the IMDb permission to use it." When I click the Continue button it takes me back to the first page of editing where you choose the categories to edit. I've tried three of four times but I can no longer get to the page that allows you to submit edits. I wasn't having this problem an hour ago when I edited an episode of Taboo.

Okay, playing around with the system, I've isolated the problem to adding a single credit to the episode. Jumard Clinton (I) plays the barista but there seems to be some problem with his entry. First of all, if I just enter "Jumard Clinton", the system has no suggestions and suggests it is a new name. This is odd as there are at least 2 Jumard Clintons in the database. Also, Jumard Clinton is listed on the main episode page as playing the Barista (and yes I know that the editing page and the main page seem to use two different data sets.) If I don't add this credit, the rest of the credits can be submitted as normal.

If you're writing about a recent data submission, Jumard Clinton (I) does have a name page. However, if you type the name in the IMDb search box, the name does not take you to that page. So it's likely that the update is still being processed. Not every new or updated item appears on the IMDb web site at the same time. Please be patient and give at least 1-2 days for the process to complete.

Please write back if you have any more questions.

While that may be true, it should give you an error message rather than an unhelpful page where when you hit continue, it starts you over completely.

@GMJ you are correct. Recently added to database.

'nm8815819' is invalid

Note: if the title or name you are trying to update was added to the database only recently, it may not yet be available for updates. Please try again in a few hours.

Hello Adrian,

Thank you for your message.

I have tried to replicate the issue but am unable to re-create it.  I can see from your submission history that you have submitted further credits today, are you still experiencing the issue?

The problem seemed to be the one particular credit of a newly created person. This should trigger an error (and it seems odd that the system knows enough about the person to suggest them in the dropdown box as you are typing the name) instead of the page that happens. I will try and add him to the episode again in a little while to see what happens. I expect that it will probably work as it usually takes 24 hours for new people/titles to be fully editable. The bigger issue, it seems to me, is that you can caught in an endless loop if you do not realize what is going on.

Hi Adrian,

I have been informed that there was an issue yesterday with this but that it should now be resolved, if you could try again and let us know if this is not the case we'd really appreciate that!

I just tried but haven't submitted the update. I can get to the submit screen. I'll fix it once the credits on the episode page match the one on the edit page (which should happen sometime later today.)
