Difficulty moving credits

In adding a credit to a person, 'Stephen Zammit', I noticed that his entry contained credits for two different people. The first was the British actor of the 60s-70s (for whom I was trying to add a credit); the second, a teenage performer on an Australian television talent show.
I submitted a request for a 'Name Split', explaining the reason. This split has occurred and there are now two Stephen Zammits.
However, when I try to move the teenage Stephen's credits from 'Stephen Zammit (I)' to 'Stephen Zammit (II)', nothing happens. There are three credits - two in the 'Self' category and one in 'Archival Footage'.
I am trying to move them by changing the name on the individual pages where these credits appear.
Am I doing something wrong? Is there a better way to do it?

I think it would be easier to delete the wrong credit and add the right credit than to try and change the existing credit. Also, you may need some information (links, etc.) that confirm what you are trying to do.

No, it is significantly harder to delete an incorrectly assigned credit;  it is always better to move.

I submitted one director name, but for some reason it appeared on the "writer" section. This production had two directors.

In any case, will the system automatically "move" the credit from"writer" section to "director" if I just change the occupation (writer to director)?

I think you might be on the wrong thread here?  This person does not have any writer/director credits.

Sorry, I just thought my query was kinda related. Meaning, that in some cases the "system" probably won't automatically "move" the credit (after a correction) so in those cases the only solution is probably to delete the wrong credit.

Eboy: Since writers and directors are different "departments" of IMDb, the only way I know how to correct someone from being a writer to being a director of a film without deleting the writer credit and adding the director credit. If there is another way, I don't know it.
