Hi,

I shot a short film back in 2012. However, we are noe re-shooting it as a TV pilot with the name. I want to to delete the page for the short film I shot back in 2012 as we are re-shooting it with a different cast and crew. I have tried contacting the helpdesk but have had no luck. Please can someone answer my question on how to delete this film page, as it won't let me submit the title of the pilot which is the same as the short film and I want people to search for the pilot not the short film. I own all the rights to both. Please help.

If the short film was released, then it is legitimate to have it listed in IMDB and staff won't remove it, as it clearly met their inclusion criteria at the time it was submitted. In fact, if the short wasn't in, being adapted into a feature film would mean it'd be worth adding.

Just add your new film in and include a movie connection pointing to the short (and another one on the short). That way people will be able to find both and the links will mean anyone arriving at one will be able to find the other. You'll also find that Google will tend to default to the longer film over time too, so it isn't a problem.

No reason you can't have both and it is more interesting to have it there as part of the film's history of development - there are dozens of such films on IMDB (Excision, Mama, etc. spring to mind from recent movies but you also have Evil Dead and many others - a lot of filmmakers use shorts as a proof-of-concept and a way to raise funds for the larger film).
