Delete filming location

Hi, for my short film ‘what is your name’ I have requested 3 times that the filming locations be deleted as I do not want them public. The only reason I filled them out in the first place was because IMDb advised me it would increase the validity of the title being accepted.

I have waited weeks inbetween each request and it has still not been deleted. Any ideas of how this can be resolved?

Thanks,

Hello, Adam.

Could you please give us a link to the page, to take a look into this specific case and be sure how to correct that?

If they are correct I see no reason why the IMDb should agree to their deletion, especially as you say that you submitted them yourself.

They all seem to be public venues, there can't be much secrecy involved

Why should they not agree though? I don’t know what there is to gain by a refusal? If I am the page creator and producer of the film and it was a request via me at the discretion of the locations themselves for it to be removed (which I put in the comment box) then I don’t see why it’s a problem?

Thanks

Well they never like to remove factually correct information. And as you submitted it they can assume that what you said was correct.

They will often remove things of a personal nature but these all appear to be public venues so they can be recognised & submitted by anyone

The IMDb aim to record as much information as possible (and is correct) about as many films & TV show as possible

That's understandable. I'm just explaining that upon IMDB's recommendation I was providing the location information to increase the chances of the page being accepted / verified - not because I wanted that publicly viewable. I would not have submitted it otherwise. Also, the buildings themselves may be public but the internal filming spaces are not and this is why I am also flagging it up, to respect the grantors. They would prefer it was removed. There should be some slight leeway to these things, as situations do change? Is there something that can be done on this occasion? I would really appreciate it.

Thanks,

It's really up to the IMDb editors, I was just saying what I think might happen
I don't work for the IMDb, I am justa contributor (albeit an experienced one)

Thanks Steve, do you know if there's a way of contacting them directly other than via a submission comment box? I can't seem to find any contact details anywhere.

Thanks

This is usually the best way of doing that. Just wait a while and somebody with (staff) or (employee) after their name Steve

Hi Will,

Thanks for getting in touch and making me aware of this policy. However there was no prompt of this policy upon my submission, so I would not have been aware of this policy at all until now. I was also encouraged by IMDB to submit the location data in order "to increase chances of verification." I would not have chose to submit this sensitive information had I known this was public - For these reasons I feel I have been mislead. As a paying IMDBPro member and a fond fan of the site, I would be extremely grateful if on this occasion could you please remove the filming location data?

Thanks,
