DAMN those pop-up banner ads on IMDb pages are ANNOYING

Banner ads that cover the 'active' working space on an IMDb page are not acceptable at any frequency. As many of us have complained before, and IMDb doesn't seem to care, I've tried to get used to it, hoping that once I've been inconvenienced by one, another one won't appear for awhile. Today, in seven clicks to take care of IMDb business (contributing, not just reading or surfing), the ad covered my workspace THREE times. Three out of seven. That's ridiculous and,
increasingly, counterproductive for IMDb. I sometimes just avoid making contributions because I know IMDb is going to try - REPEATEDLY - to sell me something else. Is this any way to run an information-based community database? I say, No.

Hi Gerald,

Can you clarify which wokspace are you referring to: Mac/PC/iPhone/Android, which browser/App and version?
Do you experience it in the standard or the reference view?
In which country are you located?

That only happens only once every 24 hours. For 10 seconds.

Maybe in your world. In mine, it's more like 24 times every hour for 30 seconds. J<<

Sound more like an adware issue.

Every time I look at an actor/actress profile pics, there's an ad every 3rd photo. Sooo just use Firefox and an ad blocker. Fixed that annoying problem.

But an ad blocker will just substitute the ad for an empty slide, right? I'd imagine some people want the ad slide to be omitted entirely.
