Credits submitted but not approved?

I've submitted numerous credits (over 40 performers) for the film Mortal Remains (2013) several times, but the submissions have not, to date, been added to the title. The film will be released in one week and we'd like to give all our performers due credit. Please help me get these new credits onto the page ASAP!

Hi Christian,

Thanks for your post.

I've taken a look at your submission history from this account, it appears you haven't made any submissions since 2016 - if you've submitted the information from another account please provide us with the submission references so we can look into this further.

Cheers,
Joel

Hi, Joel -

Thanks for responding. I've made the updates from my boss Kent's IMDB Pro account. I manage his personal page and occasionally make updates to my own pages while we're logged in.

I've submitted the additional credits for my own film (Mortal Remains, 2013) five times. The reference number for the latest submission on Sept. 23 (which is identical to all the other attempted submissions) is 170923-032457-571000.

On the same date, I also separately submitted some new website articles on the film, and these were added to the page right away. The additions to the cast and crew, however, have been ignored several times. Can you help me to make these updates, or is there a procedure I'm missing somewhere?

Any help you can offer would be appreciated. Thanks again!

Thanks for your response.

I've taken a look at the title here:

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2188831/

This appears to have had it's initial release on 13 October 2013 at the Spooky Movie International Horror Film Festival - it's likely this is why your large batch of credits was rejected as the title has been released for over 5 years.

We only display filmography based on a titles original end credits, any subsequent versions are not eligible for listing - please see our credit eligibility guide here:

Thanks,

Joel

Hi Joel --

First off, thanks for reviewing the file.

Next, please allow me to point out that October 13th, 2013 was in fact FOUR years ago, not five, so the title's having been released for "over 5 years" is in fact erroneous. If five years is the cutoff for making additions or corrections to a film's credits, we're still within safe territory.

Also, our festival release date and our mainstream release date are two different events. I've already updated the page indicating that October 13th, 2017 is our DVD & VOD release date (in other words, our official release to the general public), and this change was made to our listing without incident.

I'm aware that you probably haven't seen our film, and are personally unfamiliar with our title's original end credits. To my knowledge, NO ONE at the IMDB has seen our film or reviewed its onscreen credits, and therefore cannot vouch for the accuracy (or lack thereof) of our IMDB listing.

In the case of MORTAL REMAINS, our credits were deliberately left ambiguous as to whom portrayed whom. Our performers all received onscreen credit, but no characters were assigned to those credits.

I added the few credits that are present on that page myself a few years ago. Certain performers did indeed play themselves, and those are the people I initially added to the page. Everyone else was left off intentionally, and I had equal intent on adding their names when the film was finally released. These are the names I wish to add at this time.

Eligibility notwithstanding, I would very much like to give our performers due credit now that our film is finally being released to the public.

The "shroud of mystery" we cultivated for our marketing scheme has been dispelled. Along with my partner Mark, I wrote, directed, produced, and cast this film, and I would like to see it - and the 40+ performers who went above and beyond for us - accurately represented on the IMDB.

Please do what you can to get those credits added to our title. Thanks.

So, I suppose my next question is this:

Where or how do I submit a copy of the film - or a list of our actual end credits - for approval? As of this writing, I still have 40 performers whose names have been accepted and created in the database, but whose work on our movie goes unrecognized because someone, somewhere continues to reject their addition to our film's page.

Here are the facts at hand:

1. MORTAL REMAINS features name-only credits; in other words, character names are not identified in the onscreen end credits. ALL featured performers are indeed credited. I've tried submitting with the attribute "credit only" which seems to be a valid designation, but even these have been rejected.

2. We - that is, Cryptic Pictures LLC, the production company responsible for producing and distributing MORTAL REMAINS - have never submitted a copy of the film to the IMDB for review, nor have we sent a physical or digital copy of our credits. We would be only too happy to do so, but it seems that our only option is to edit the movie's page...and since our submissions keep getting rejected this would appear to be a waste of time and effort (and I've done so repeatedly). Nevertheless, your suggestion that the credits are unchangeable because you "only display filmography based on a title's original end credits" is a moot point, as you've never SEEN our original end credits.

3. IMDB is currently owned by Amazon. MORTAL REMAINS is currently available for viewing on Amazon Video and Amazon Prime. One would think that - as our film is licensed to your governing entity - checking the credits would be a simple matter. But again, we'd be happy to provide this information -- and have tried MANY TIMES to do so via the "edit" feature, to no avail.

4. Your suggestion that our credits were rejected because "the title has been released for over 5 years" is also a moot point, as I have frequently added credits successfully to productions made many years ago.

5. At least ONE of our performers - Jason Winn 'J.B. Destiny' Bareford - was finally added to the film's page, though how or why this one credit was approved where so many others were rejected is a mystery. Perhaps he submitted the credit himself.

I could keep going, but is it worth it? I received no response to my last message, and I don't know if I'll receive one to this message, but I fully intend to keep trying to get our performers the credit they deserve.

Please let me know where I can submit our credits and I will do so right away.

Hi Christian -

Thanks for posting the additional information, our editors were able to view the on-screen credits from the Amazon Video and have approved the missing cast credits you submitted.  These credit should be listed on the site shortly.  Cheers!

Hello again --

I've attempted to make some corrections to the credits (which were finally approved, thanks), but these seem to be caught in the same limbo as the initial submission. Any suggestions as to how I can get these through?

Hi Christian -

Can you clarify what specific credit corrections you are submitting (and if possible post the submission reference numbers)?

Hi Michelle!

Absolutely. Here's the info:

The submission reference number is 180207-225448-435200.

On that submission I've added clarification notes to each of the credits I've tried to update. (I can relist them here if you prefer.)

Thanks for checking into this! Please let me know what else I can do to assist.

Hi Christian -

When looking up the submission you referenced, I was able to see that this was a Saved submission and has not yet been submitted.  Can you go back to your IMDb Account where the submission was made, you can see the Saved submission in your Account History here, click on the reference number associated with the Saved submission and then within the form select the button to submit for our staff to review.

Hey Michelle --

OK, I've submitted it. I tried to do so a couple of days ago, but it said I had to wait until a particular date before I could resubmit. Maybe this will fix it?
