Greetings!

I am a visual effects artist and I have been trying to add one of my credits for a couple of months already with no luck. I got other credits after that movie and I was wondering why is that.

Thanks in advance

regards,

Fran

Fran: Are you listed in the on-screen credits of the film? If so, are you able to get a screen capture or clip showing your name in the credits? If so, you can submit the screen capture/clip to IMDb as proof of your credit -- see http://www.imdb.com/help/show_leaf?additionalverification for details.

yes, I actually show up in the credits of that movie. I think the problem I has with this was that my full name is Francisco Jose Martinez Exposito. The Company I worked with couldn't add my full name and they decided to chose Francisco Exposito. In IMDB I show up as Francisco  Martinez and I realized that there was another Francisco Martinez working on the same movie with the same name as mine.

So the idea would be only to follow those steps in that link you gave me and submitting a screencatpure/clip of the credits of that movie right?

Thanks for the information

I really appreciate

ok so I found what the issue might be. If you look at this:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2015381/fullcredits/

you'll find this:

Fran Martinez...digital compositor: Framestore (as Francisco Martinez) / lighting and compositing artist (Luma Pictures)

The Fran Martinez who worked at Framestore and me ( the one at Luma Pictures ) are completely different people.
 How can I fix that?

Fran: Looking at the credits listed at http://www.imdb.com/name/nm4405345/ ... which of those credits are yours, and which belong to the Francisco Martinez of Framestore? We can get the credits to be assigned correctly as long as we know who gets what credit and what name each credit was under.

Fran: Okay. I was somewhat confused by the situation before, but I think I understand it now. I'm sorry if I have to repeat things from before.

So you are Francisco Martinez (XIV) (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm6142691/). On the page of Fran Martinez (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm4405345/), there are two different jobs for Guardians of the Galaxy listed. One is "digital compositor: Framestore", which was done by the other guy, and the other is "lighting and compositing artist - Luma Pictures", which was done by you and should be listed on your page. Do I have that right?

Since Guardians of the Galaxy is available on DVD, it should be easy for you to get screen shots of the credits. Can you please post screen shots here of those two credits from that movie -- both the other guy's credit and yours? I want to confirm exactly how each of your names and jobs were shown in the on-screen credits.

Okay. When you get a chance to post the two screen shots, you can post them here in this thread.

Here you have them. I show up in the credits as Francisco Exposito in the Lighting/Compositing of Luma Pictures. My full name is Francisco Jose Martinez Exposito, and for obvious reasons they couldn't use my full name.

Fran: Thanks, these screen captures are useful.

Here's how I recommend submitting the correction. Go to the "Guardians of the Galaxy" page at http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2015381/ and click "Edit page".

On the next screen, on the Visual Effects line, select "Correct/Delete". Scroll down and click "Continue".

On the next screen, you will see all the Visual Effects crew members listed alphabetically. There will be two entries there for "Martinez, Fran". Leave the "digital compositor: Framestore" entry as "Keep". For the "lighting and compositing artist" entry, select "Correct" in the drop-down box to the left of the name. Scroll down and click "Check these updates".

On the next screen, you will see that the entry for what should be your credit is editable. Change the name from:
Martinez, Fran
to
Martinez, Francisco (XIV)

At the end of the occupation, add a colon and Luma Pictures so it will say:
lighting and compositing artist: Luma Pictures

Replace the attribute (Luma Pictures) with the attribute (as Francisco Exposito) instead.

Check the box marked "provide an explanation to assist in processing this change". Scroll down and click "Check these updates".

On the next screen, your data should appear with a green background, and there will be an Explanation box. In the Explanation box, enter something like this:
I am Francisco Martinez (XIV) (nm6142691), and I was a lighting and compositing artist for Luma Pictures on "Guardians of the Galaxy". My full name is Francisco Jose Martinez Exposito, and on this film I was credited as Francisco Exposito. I am a different person from Fran Martinez (nm4405345) a/k/a Francisco Martinez, who also worked in visual effects on the same film but as a digital compositor for Framestore. Screen captures from this film showing each of our respective credits can be found at https://getsatisfaction.com/imdb/topics/credit-not-accepted.
Then click "Re-check these updates".

On the next screen, your data should appear with a green background, and at the bottom of the page you should be able to click "Submit these updates".

Good luck!
