Credit for The Grow Up

My credit for The Grow Up has been denied me despite the many times I have submitted the updates while you often give credits to extras who are not credited on screen, adding insult to injury to those of us who actually go through the process of auditioning and getting cast in roles.  Anyways, The Grow Up has not been released, so I cannot get a screen grab of the credits, but here are some stills, which your Customer Service representative Molly told me to submit.

Hi William -

Thanks for posting these screen grabs, can you post the submission reference number associated with your most recent update for this credit?

Thanks William.  The screen grab and cast credit you requested has been forwarded to our data editors and, if approved, should appear online with the next available update of our servers.  Cheers!

They listed me as uncredited. Your data editors are either idiots or have a personal vendetta against me.

Hi William -

The reason why the 'uncredited' attribute was included was because while you verified that you participated on the project, you didn't include a screen grab to verify that your name was credited on-screen.  If you have a screen grab to verify that your name was credited on-screen for this title please post it here.

As I said before, this film hasn't been released yet so I can't get a screen grab of the credits so if I'm listed as uncredited, then all of the cast and crew should be listed as uncredited. I am the only one listed as uncredited, so I have been singled out, showing me that either your data editors are incompetent and can't be consistent in enforcing your policy or that I am being discriminated against.

Mr. Ngo:

Credits for unreleased titles are accepted and evaluated by our editors on a case-by-case basis, and the decision to accept them is made after considering a number of different factors (including, but not limited to, past submissions/credits for the same person, and whether that person received on-screen billing in similar productions made or released around the same time).  We are not perfect, so errors are always possible, and when they are brought to our attention, we strive to address them, especially when we are presented with actionable information.

If you were listed as 'uncredited' it means that our editors were not able to determine or feel confident that you will receive on-screen billing -- if you feel this is incorrect, and/or are able to provide verification of on-screen credit, I encourage you to submit a correction and they will be happy to review it along with any new additional information that is made available to them. When on-screen credits are not yet finalized, our editors can  often accept other sources (e.g. submissions sent by a third party connected with the production such as a director or producer, documents showing on-screen credit as part of a contractually-stipulated benefit, etc.)

However, since credits for unreleased titles are often hard to verify and subject to change, they are added at our editors' discretion. Personally, I would assume that the chances of achieving the desired outcome might be improved by refraining from using the words 'idiots' or 'incompetent' when referring to same individuals that you are trying to convince of your good faith when submitting a change that they are being asking to accept without verification. However, regardless of any doubts you may have about their competence or mental acumen, I can assure you that our staff always applies content policies fairly, consistently and uniformly, on the basis of the data that is presented in front of them, and that they look forward to the chance of rectifying any error or omission that may have been made.

If you are aware of other listings/credits for the same title that were accepted prematurely or incorrectly (e.g. you know that the person does not or will not receive on-screen billing but is not currently listed with the 'uncredited' attribute) please submit an update to correct this and our staff will be happy to review and make all appropriate changes.

Thank you for your help.

I have already submitted many screenshots of me in the film and I have many credits listed (verified by other cast and crew, on-screen credits, call sheets, contracts, pay stubs, etc.) and the director and other cast members have submitted the credit for me as well, but I can ask them to do it again. It is very peculiar that all other cast and crew are credited without proof and I'm the only one listed as Uncredited. Each year, I get an e-mail from Imdb thanking me for the hundreds of corrections I've submitted that have been accepted. It's funny how you often give credits to extras that are not credited on screen and you assume that they are credited despite the fact they are not and despite the corrections I submit, and you can assume that I, as an actor with a principal/speaking role in a film, will not be credited on screen despite the ample photographic evidence that I have provided. There is definitely a double standard here. Believe me, if someone is deliberately denying me my credit to antagonize me, I will not hesitate to sue.

Here's the e-mail the producer sent me for further proof that I was cast in this film.

Here's a facebook exchange I had with the director for even further proof that I will be credited in this film.
