credit correction

Hello!

I am looking to make a few small corrections on my IMDB page for some older films, that it turns out I was credited as director, when in fact my involvement was notably as the writer/story for each of the films - I sent in the corrections, with written information, and sent another today - but not sure if I need to submit some form of picture evidence (if I can find them) for each of the projects.

If someone could help me out with some suggestions or information that would help to make the corrections that would be great!

Cheers,
Chris Eadicicco

You should be able to locate and check the status of the contribution via the new experimental tracking system at https://contribute.imdb.com/contributions/history .

This info can also be found at this location also.
https://contribute.imdb.com/updates/history/?ref_=helpms_ch_ci_history

Also from that page post the 18 digit contribution number associated with it here please
Thanks
Cheers

Thanks, man - I put in for the submissions and stated on IMDB that the photo evidence has been submitted on this forum - since there is no way to do it on the IMDB corrections section.

Hi, Christopher Eadicicco. Chances are that you would be expected to present a screenshot of the part of the movie in which your name appears as a director credit, but we will see. Without knowing the reference number of the submission, we wouldn't be able to guess whether the submission was declined, still pending or just flat out caught in a system bug. If it was declined, the reason should either be "not enough evidence" or "badly formatted", as opposed to "does not meet submission guidelines", unless it was not added to the correction section, contains an inappropriate attribute or so.

Hello! So this is the contribution number from yesterday #190227-224426-110000 - the correction I’m attempting to make is correcting my credit which was listed as director to writer/story - my close friend and actor Morgan Nichols directed the films- so I’m just trying to adjust and credit properly.

Also here is the original contribution number - 190222-084339-089000 - hopefully this helps - in trying to find screen shot evidence I can make the attempt to locate the films in question - they are no longer online, one of the films was never finished (irreversible) this film was never released.

Any help in making the corrections would be great!

Hi Christopher -

I just reviewed both submissions you referenced and can see that they were not approved.  I noted that instead of removing the credits you submitted a correction to include the "writer" attribute to the Director credit, which would have been rejected due to bad formatting.

If you did not perform as Director on these titles and you were not credited as such on-screen, you will need to request the correction of these existing Director credits to "Morgan Nichols", you will then need to submit your correct credits under the Writer section for these titles.  So essentially, two separate actions (correction/addition) need to be taken for each title.

Concerning the film that was never released, please note that this title may be ineligible to be listed on the site.  If the title doesn't meet our eligibility criteria, you should request that it be removed from the site.  If this is the case, you can still mention your work on the title within your Trivia and Other Works section.

Let us know if you have any questions or encounter issues submitting the updates mentioned above!

Hi Michelle,

In my many attempts to have this last credit corrected, I find that anyone else who has responded to my replies is no help - I have submitted screen grabs, and also the final version of the film that I have on my hard drive - I am submitting it to you once more in the hopes that someone can make this correction, and not give me some non sensical response - I would really appreciate help in correcting this final credit - once again here is the final version of the film Calm & Flow (2014)

Please, please, please, please help!

Hi Michelle,

Thank you for contacting me about the credit corrections - just to clarify, so I submitted that information incorrectly - the Director corrections need to happen on Morgan Nichols page? - and for the Writer credits I need to do the same but I’d be adding them to my page, not correcting?

Lastly - should I put in for removal of the Irreversible title being that it wasn’t completed and not released? Or is that something that can be done from your side, now that you have the information about the film?

In regards to the corrections, if I cannot produce evidence (screen shot) what’s the next best way to submit any evidence for proof?

Thanks!

Hi Christopher,

Yes, you will need to submit a modification for the director credit to move the credit to Morgan Nichols page. This can be done by using the 'edit page' button at the bottom of the title page and selecting 'correct/delete' from the dropdown next to Director. On the next page you will have the option to correct the credit and change the name to the relevant director. Once submitted, if this is not approved it will mean our data editors are unable to verify this change and will require the evidence in the form of the onscreen credits.

The writer credit should be submitted as a new credit to your page. For information on how to add credits to an existing name, please refer to the guide below:

https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/filmography-credits/adding-filmography-credits/GAB5B33MBL...#

To request a title deletion, please use the contact form below, selecting the options IMDb Fan/Contributor questions -> Titles -> Delete a title and fill in the email form provided.

https://help.imdb.com/contact

Please let us know if you require any further assistance

Thanks
Meredith

Hi Meredith,

Thank you for sending that information! I didn't even realize that this email came through. I submitted for the title deletion for the incomplete title Irreversible. As mentioned the footage no longer exist for the film on top of the film not being completed.

I also submitted the corrections for the titles Astoria Gardens & Calm & Flow - I didn't realize my correct credit is already listed on the page, so it's just the correction that needs to happen.

I mentioned that I can seek out evidence if required - the films are much older, but I may still have the master hard drives with the films.

Thanks!

One more item - I noticed that I dear friend of mine who is a female (Elspeth Brown) her "also known as " for some reason has my name listed. You can see it when my name is typed into the search box. It's written underneath her name, but I do not know how to correct that.

This is here IMDB page - https://www.imdb.com/name/nm4070563/?ref_=fn_al_nm_2

How might I fix that?

I attempted to look into her name, nickname and miscellaneous category but each said "no data"

Hi Christopher -

I can see that your name was listed as an Alternate name on Ms. Brown's page because one of your credits for "Makin' It" was listed on her page.  I have now moved the credit to your correct page and your name is no longer listed on  Ms. Browns page.  Cheers!

Thank you for making those corrections! Just wanted to add, that is it turns out the film titled Astoria Gardens, doesn't exist either - I cannot locate the film, nor could any of the collaborators - with that said I am putting in for a title deletion for that particular film.

On the other hand, I am uploading images (evidence) for Calm & Flow - so that this credit can be corrected.

Please see attached images - I also apologize for my credit correction, as it turns out I was already credited on the film as editor - haha, my writing credit went uncredited and that's alright with me.

Hi Christopher,

Thanks for providing these! Do you have a screengrab of the director credits for the title so we can look in to getting this corrected for you.

Thank you!

Hi Elizabeth - I submitted information for the Astoria Gardens credit correction below also - I thought I was supposed to list it on this thread, but keep getting told to follow some link that doesn’t exist to get satisfaction - am I doing something wrong?

On another note - I put in for a title deletion for the film Astoria Gardens (2008) because the film doesn't exist - I was sent back a note by someone named Charlie that didn't even ask questions, just simply said no to my request - can someone help me?

The film doesn't exist, the film was never completed in post-production, and all I have on my hard drives are a few screenshots, that's it - how can I delete this title?

The production status should at least be corrected from "released" to "post-production". The IMDb site authorities can set it to "abandoned" or indeed delete the title entry altogether. However, any of these operations would imply that false information, perhaps wittingly or perhaps unwittingly, was submitted to IMDb. I would be curious to know how that happened.

To my recollection the information wasn’t false at the time, as there was evidence of the title being completed and released on the internet - however complications arose, as in most cases with films they do, and the title was never brought into completion stage, and everyone just forgot about it and never made the attempt to contact until now.

I just put in for the title deletion again. I want to be accurate in the representation of titles that exist and deserve to be listed - not something that was never completed, or doesn't even have the opportunity to be seen - pleasseeeeeee help!

I was indeed requesting a title deletion -  which I will make the attempt at doing once more, however if in the case that it does not happen, I would at least like my credit corrected - here is the only evidence I have of the project even existing at one point in its life - these are these are the only available screengrabs from the film which are from the opening credits of the short doc.

I am placing them in a separate message so you can see the order.

Hello again! - these are the only living images I have available from the short film titled "Astoria Garden" (2008)

Originally I put in for a credit correction, because I was listed as director, however after speaking with reps and realizing I no longer or my partners no longer had a copy of the film, which unfortunately as we discovered didn't make it all the way through post or release I attempted to have the title deleted to offer up the correct information through IMDB - however I was denied, so I would just like to submit these images that I do have, so that my credit and partners credit can be corrected.

Hope this helps!

Cheers,
Chris Eadicicco

I thought that’s what I was doing by submitting all of this information onto this forum? - haven’t I already been speaking with reps of IMDB to get credits corrected? - very confusing - I’m just trying to get the credit corrected now.

Great! - Does that mean both Astoria Gardens + Calm & Flow will have the credits corrected? - you have screen grabs for both, and I submitted new corrections on the pages as per your notes.

Hi Michelle,

Thank you for correcting the Astoria Gardens credit - however, I am wondering why the credit for Calm & Flow has yet to be corrected when I submitted the screen grabs for this film a few days ago? - they are up top in this thread.

Wondering if the credit for Calm & Flow is going to be corrected? You have the screen grabs within this thread up top, and I have submitted the correction on the IMDb site, but it still exists - here is that contribution number

#190306-190353-474000

I’d love to get this last credit corrected if possible - I’ve presented evidence for it, you have the majority of the credits listed above - please help.

Cheers,
