Combining Titles

I have a web series, "Which Die Is That Again?" We filmed a few episodes in 2010 and then took a break, resuming in 2016. I'd really like to combine these titles. The characters and situations are the same but the 2016 page is updated with all the new information. I'm running into a lot of problems with Amazon and WithoutABox pointing people to the wrong page. If the pages were combined, this problem would cease.

Hi, Nathaniel Grauwelman. I guess, you could try merging them. If it is all one series, like having the same main cast and crew, then the merge sounds legit.

Hi Nathaniel,

As the 2016 version starts with episode 1 both on Amazon and on Youtube, this does not appear to be a continuation of the same series, and seems to be a remake of the original 2010 listing. You can submit a connection request to link these as a remake using the 'edit page' button at the bottom of the title pages. For more information on connections, please refer to the guide below:

https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/titles/movie-connections/GNUNL9W2FTZDGF4Y?ref_=helpsrall#

If you have further information or evidence that indicates the two series are a continuation and should be merged as one series, please provide this here and our data editors will be able to review.

Thanks
Meredith

Meredith,

I've come up with further evidence as you requested and placed said information below. Please have your editors kindly review this. I appreciate your time.

We sort of started over some we lose the other actress, yeah. So if I change the listings to episode 4, then you'll merge them? I've done the connection part already. The really frustrating thing is that I'm submitting the new series to festivals and listing it on Amazon but these keep lining to the old version which... There images on the original one aren't even right even though I've tried to get this all changed half a dozen times before.

I've tried to change the image tags (again). What I'd really like I'd to combine the pages or delete the old one entirely so this stops happening.

The rating from IMDb on Amazon shows the rating for the old version.

I feel like people are still going to the old page too review too because this number has been changing recently. :/

Also, I have the 2010 videos listed under"old videos" on the "Which Die Is That Again?" YouTube page. So, they're all listed as the same title there.

Since the videos we'd created in 2010 isn't exactly the same story and were already listed under the same name as the current episodes ("Which Die Is That Again?" on YouTube), I'm viewing them as prequels and just calling them "Season 0." Some of the jokes are revisited in the 2016 episodes but the story is different, new characters are introduced and relationships are built upon.

With this in mind, I don't see any reason for these two titles (only listed separately on IMDb) should continue to be as such.

Thank you.

Hi Nathanial,

Thanks for the additional information however these should still be listed as independent titles on IMDb according to IMDb policies.

Regards,
Will

Also, could you have someone link the proper accounts to Withoutabox and Amazon. Also, the images on the 2010 version aren't from the 2010 version.

Hi Nathanial,

I've re-pointed the watch Now link on tt1959237 to the correct later version https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6312454/?ref_=fn_al_tt_2 which should also redirect the ratings score and removed the two images on tt1959237 that relate to the other series page. This should be changed within the next 24 hours. We have 2 separate listings so that we can create a movie connection linking the two titles. Feel free to add any further details to the trivia sections of the titles to explain the history of the projects.

Regards,
Will

Thanks for fixing the issue, Will. Unfortunately, this isn't the first time it's happened nor the first time it's been fixed. Why is the movie connection you want to create so important?

I've created a trivia section on both and it still doesn't seem to help. Is there a way to keep this from happening? Also, I'd also like to point out the irony merging my questions but the reluctantly in merging the titles.

Works that are separate but related warrant the registration of a connection.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Linking to wrong page.

Often times Withoutabox, Amazon and when images in IMDb itself ink to a different title with the same name (Which Die Is That Again? 2010 and 2016). This has become a big source of anxiety for me. Both are my show but I revamped it after losing our actress (and drive to continue filming) in 2011. I picked it back up in 2016 with the same premis and two lead actors. I can see how this would easily be confusing for Withoutabox and IMDb staff as well as anyone searching out the 2016 show so I've tried to remedy this problem and get the titles combined. However, it seems like this is not something staff editors are willing to do. Both "separate titles" are loaded as one on YouTube, the only place I ever posted the first run of the series and I even titled the old episodes "Season 0". I've made a connections section at the bottom, per suggestion of IMDb staff, but the confusion keeps happening and I'm not sure what else to do. I'd really appreciate the help.

I can confirm that the WAB project (4030257) is now associated with tt6312454.

Thanks, Will. Hopefully it's fixed for good now and we won't be having this exact conversation in the future.
