Clicking to edit a page still doesn't show ALL categories. How do you edit the OTHER categories?

FIRST: I checked the box that says "To update data for categories that aren't listed above, select this box", but it still doesn't show all the categories.

For example, "Special Effects" and "Visual Effects" show up on the main page, but "Visual Effects department member Credits" is the only one even close that you can edit -- and that one lists "no existing data".

"Other Crew member Credits" shows no data either.  Where are the other categories?

I essentially have the same job listed in three different categories, and I'd like to combine some of them.

Aha.  I found the update history page.  That might be what I was looking for since it linked me to the changes.  I'll have to wait to see if the changes go through to see if that was the answer.

Once updates are accepted, it takes a while for all the pages to be updated. Different sections are updated at different times.

The major problem here is that the Update Database (which is separate from the database the display pages are served from) has not yet been updated. Until recently, IMDb made sure that this was always updated first, so that if you tried to update a page, the update form would be certain to show the most current version. Unfortunately, because of their rush to get things showing fast, this is no longer the case, leading to the type of confusion you are having.

However, that database should be updated overnight (in 48 hours at most) which will allow you to submit corrections.

Visual Effects department member Credits is the correct section for Visual Effects credits, and Special Effects is just a few sections above it. As I said, it should probably have the data showing tomorrow. All categories are actually shown.

Update History can be treacherous, if you don't understand how it works. It does not show what you submitted in all cases; rather it shows what it would look like if you were trying to submit it now. Therefore, what were valid changes (and have since been accepted) may show as invalid because the 'change' is now a null change. Also, a deletion that was accepted and processed will not even appear in the form because there is no way you could create that request now.

I recommend saving the email that is sent to you when you submit the request, as this is the only way to see later exactly what you submitted.

The update database seems to be updated now.

It contains credits for you for Art Department member Credits, Special Effects department member Credits and Visual Effects department member Credits. You should now be able to make changes to these credits.

But remember that what is most important is how you were credited on screen, not what you wish the page to show.
