Hi

IMDb often doesnt accept awards or festivals due to the formal non-observance of the 5-year term of their existence on the site, there are sometimes dubious awards. Which knowledgeable people can tell what kind of award it is and whether it can be on the site.

CinEuphoria Awards

Of the data that is on the Internet, this is a blogger’s list:

https://twitter.com/cineuphoria

https://www.facebook.com/CinEuphoria/

cineuphoria09.blogspot.com

Is it real award event?

Thanks.

Interesting. Criteria for awards/events are usually rather strict and while it meets requirement of being at least 5 years old, it also doesn't seem to have any discernible sources to confirm that it has any weight or importance as a standalone award.

As per IMDb guidelines on Event Eligibility Criteria it lacks an established jury or method of selecting winners (or at least one is not specified clearly), regular international or national press coverage (I can't find any, for that matter) and I'm not even sure that it counts as a "Wildcard": event that generated enough public interest without the previous two criteria. Twitter handle seems to have less than 1,000 subscribers which is not nearly enough.

As a longtime event contributor I'm pretty sure that if it got approved it submitted at least some press coverage, although it is weird to see an event with no official website attached, since that is also a requirement.

Once the moderators accepted an application for the creation of a fake society of film critics - the Atlanta Film Critics Society - which at that time did not exist and their "awards" were available for 2 years. This then formed a real community of film critics of Atlanta. Therefore, the criteria of moderators who reject real local festivals on formal grounds (well, the festival cannot receive the foreign press due to the fact that there are student and independent national films without wide coverage) are sometimes surprising. But somehow fake awards or festivals, which then do not keep their pages, are seeking accommodation.

I wrote. And he received a brilliant answer: Whilst we appreciate the report, we are currently not removing events that do not meet our current criteria.

I also pointed out the inconsistency of the award - Seattle Film Critics Awards (ev0000859) :

«The Seattle Film Critics Society Established in 2016 Proof  https://seattlefilmcritics.com/about-us/ Seattle Film Critics Awards from Washington, USA is a fake

I think need to delete awards before 2016 and rename event and add to description site of the real Seattle Film Critics » But the answer is the same. Why does the site not want to make an adjustment to false information and replace it with reliable information?
