the photo showed on the IMBD page for Chef Madison Cowen is NOT him.  It is a photo of Ross Mathews.

Hi, Diane Bonyak. Thanks for reporting this. The misleading thumbnail is a symptom of certain automated mechanisms within IMDb. If you click on the thumbnail, you'll notice that Madison Cowan is the leftmost of three individuals. Apart from Cowan or his agent claiming the particular name page and overriding the special placeholder image by uploading a preferred featured image and assigning it as the primary image, this issue is beyond the capacity of any IMDb non-staff user to correct, so please stand by to see what the IMDb site authorities have to express about this matter.

Hi Diane -

As Jeorj mentioned above, the primary image displayed on Madison Cowan's page is automatically displayed because this is the only image we have within his photo gallery, the primary photo slot works best with portrait images, and in this instance the image is a landscap,  While Mr. Cowan is featured in the image, unfortunately, he is automatically cropped out due to our primary image restrictions.

We are unable to crop these images manually, therefore, we will need to wait until other images are added to his photo gallery (whether a Resume image or production/event still) before we can change the primary to a better image.  If a better image is added to his photo gallery you are welcome to request that it be changed to the primary through our Contact Form following the path: IMDb Fan/Contributor questions --> Images & video --> Name page images --> Add images

Hi, Michelle. There is an IMDb employee who resolved a different case of the same manner of problem by seemingly using unspecified sets of tools to download a copy of an image, crop it, upload it and attach it to the photo gallery in which the unaltered image resides, all the prerequisites for substituting the placeholder assignment. Are only some IMDb employees able to do this? Are only some image entries in all the database able to have this done to them? (Is it a matter of copyright?) Is only some of the time this is able to be done? Does editing and publishing the edition require the consent of the person captured in the image? I would think that the IMDb staff simply does not have the time or other resources to necessarily undertake such a multi-step process for every report sent its way, but perhaps the situation is more involved than that.
