I recently submitted a fair number of keywords that applied to various movies.. However, when reviewing what is actually up there, it turns out that several have been silently censored and have not been applied. Such as for one film where I tried to apply an existing keyword term to highlight that a film contains nudity - only for it to not appear. The other four terms I submitted were accepted, presumably because they had no sexual connotations.
Note, this is applying existing keywords to films, not creating new ones.
If keywords are to be blocked when it comes to applying them to certain movies, then it should be done when the form is checked, not silently accepted and then binned. Worse, when I review those submissions. it suggests that I can still submit that term.
I am not wasting any more of my time on contributing to IMDB- I spent a fair amount of time contributing keywords and even more indicating that other peoples' keyword contributions were relevant: I'll not be doing any more of that in future and I'll be strongly recommending that other people don't waste their time either.

Your keywords may be delayed, not rejected. Most keywords go through automatically, but lately some of them are being held up for review. You can see this if you submit keywords on the same form with a new title or new episode. These special keywords are marked pending until someone looks at them. The special keywords include social-justice-warrior, social-justice-warrior-as-epithet, jew, jews-as-a-people, syrian-jew, white-nationalist, and white-nationalism. I'm sure the full list is much larger, but these are the only ones I know about.

It seems that in addition to political terms you note they are also holding up terms with a sexual dimension. e.g. in my case "male-genitalia" and one or two with nudity in the expression.

It seems from the link you sent that the relevant keywords are "pending" with the sentence "this item is awaiting processing by our data editors" and a target date of the 11th. Bit puzzled what they will do to check things as all the terms have already been applied by other users to other titles. I cannot see them reviewing the films to check they really do apply!
