Bogus Writer/Actor Profile

Sorry, I'm new to this and unsure of how/what to do with this. I'm a writer and was recently contacted by another production house regarding a writer/actor listed on IMDB. I know this person (in passing), but when I checked his IMDB page, let's just say I was shocked at what was listed there.

He's clearly created the page himself and almost nothing on it is correct. I know for a fact he was not a writer for Sinister 2  or My Amityville Horror, for starters. Plus, for most of what he lists as his writing credits, he simply puts "idea", which I can only assume is his way of saying "I had an idea for a similar movie". For many of his other entries, he simply lists his involvement as "additional material" or "help with script." The whole thing is just weird.

It's so weird that I didn't want to just start correcting his page myself for fear it would look like I had some sort of personal vendetta against this person, which I do not. I do think someone needs to take a closer look at his page, though.

Hi QT -

Thanks for reporting the filmography, in general, anytime you are aware of incorrectly listed data/credits, the best way to let our staff know is through our online Update form (all pages on our site include an 'Edit Page' button which allows comments/corrections to be submitted to our data editors).

Since you mentioned not being comfortable correcting the page yourself, I have forwarded your report to our data editors who will take a look as soon as they can.  Thanks!

Michelle,
Thanks for the response! And I am more than happy to help the editors with regard to the few movies/projects that I know are wrong. My reason for not wanting to edit it myself was because, as I mentioned, it appears that the vast majority of his information is incorrect and, well, weird: I don't think you can't list a movie in your credits simply because you had a similar "idea". And I'm not sure you can ever really document that you were "thanked--uncredited".

But as I mentioned, I have first-hand connections to some of the films/projects on his list and can help the editors if they want/need it. Additionally, it would not be hard for me to pull credits for the major motion pictures (Insidious, Sinister, etc) to disprove his claims that he was not involved in any of those, especially not with regard to writing the screenplay and/or story.

Once again, I appreciate your response!
