Better overview of personal ratings

The platform is amazing.

I'm hesitating to use ratings as i feel this department is lacking, and i feel that this is somewhat of a shame as this is the premiere online database for movies but theres no good way of tracking personal ratings. I think the overview is terrible

For example i visit a directors page, why not have my ratings displayed below each film title? Same goes for actors and product companies. (this combined with personal statistics is where im getting at)

The browsability in 'my ratings' section is just like a chaotic "wall of ratings". What if there was an ability to sort after most seen director/actor, or the ones with the highest ratings averages and so on. The possibility of selecting a country and get a display of all rated movies from that country. I think these are just some examples that would be really useful.

This is of course doable to a small extend (disregarding personal statistics) with the list functions (with an insane amount of work for those who have seen thousands of films... given the fact that you don't only have to add everything once but multiple times depending on what sorts of lists you would want) but i think in theory these functions could be easy to apply to the site and make it more desireable/userfriendly.

i added an image that displays what i have in mind, say for example i had seen only these 2 from the director. Then they would display rating under director/writer etc.

You can already do all that - a lot of the more basic filtering and sorting can be done directly on the list (as you can with most lists) and then you click on to get other options.

So here is a list of Quentin Tarantino films in your ratings (although it'd be handy to split this or refine it by role):
http://www.imdb.com/search/title?my_r...

Or Peter Jackson:

Here are all the British films you've rated:

sort of, but it is not what i am suggesting.

i'm suggesting the feature to be implemented while browsing (could be implemented as an optional feature aswell)

Most of it can be done during browsing from the sidebar and any more detailed settings can be adjusted through advanced search. The problem is that there are so many potential options people might want, not everything can be shoehorned into the page.

I agree to Alexd.

It doesn't work properly. For example "Hot Fuzz" is listed there, has nothing to do with Tarantino as far as I know. Besides: What if I only want to see the movies I rated which he directed and not those he produced/has written/acted in?

Alexd's idea is really good - a different way might be to just highlight the movies the user has rated by using a different font-style or -color, should be easy to implement.
