Better primary image needed for episode

This episode of Sherlock: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1664529/reference, currently has this photo as its primary image: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1664529/mediaviewer/rm3449044736. This one would obviously serve the purpose much better: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1664529/mediaviewer/rm920390912.
I don't know how to make this change, so if someone can fix it, that would be nice!

I agree that the current poster image is generic to the series, hints nothing about the episode.
I also agree that the image you suggest should become the poster would remind those who've seen the episode which one it is, since the yellow spray paint is a key plot device.
Hopefully an IMDb staffer will read this and act, because the only other way I know to request such a change is through the Contact form, and plead the case as done already here.

Take the same image and make it an episode specific image instead of it's current title specific image. Then you can suggest it as the episode main image through the interface instead of pleading it here or the contact way.

I believe it is the classification as Poster that's preventing the "Suggest as primary image" option from appearing. But I see nowhere to change the type of image.

The following image is attached to both title and episode, and NOT a Poster. It does have the Suggest checkbox.

I think you're right and a staffer needs to fix this.

All you have to do is submit the same image to the episode that's in the media gallery on the series level. Once approved, delete the duplicate from the Series level gallery.
Then submit as your primary episode image....

I appreciate you thinking along Ed, but I won't add a duplicate image to the database because the already-listed image has a wrong classification. The classification should be corrected, that's what should happen. Ideally of course, we could send corrections for wrong classifications just like we can send corrections to delete someone from a photo they're not in.

Look, if you have not noticed tet, staff is taking forever to reply lately.
You wanna wait. Be my guest.
Wanna fix things yourself? Then fix it.
Blah blah blah "I won't add a duplicate"
Wasting staffs time on an issue you can resolve yourself is ?????????????

I know. That said, in general, I've never been satisfied with staff response on GetSat.

You wanna wait. Be my guest.

Thanks.

Wanna fix things yourself? Then fix it.

Every now and again, I do: https://www.imdb.com/user/ur0862605/

Polite as ever.

Staff should try and make it possible to submit corrections for a type/tag of a photo. It's not my fault they haven't created this yet. Apart from that, I don't submit photos if I'm not a hundred per cent sure I have the right to copy and since I don't know much about copyright, I don't submit images to the database.

I guess you can't define a poster (tag) as "primary image" for a TV serie episode, because only a "still frame" (tag) image can possibly be:
https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/images-videos/how-do-i-update-my-poster/GA8N34CWGUMJJM98#

A "poster" image can be displayed in the top left of the title page - otherwise known as a "primary" poster. You are able to submit more than one poster to a title, but can only have 1 'primary' poster at a time. Your choice should strike a good balance between the following criteria:

  • Movies: The most iconic and widely-recognized poster, of the best image quality. English language posters are preferred if available, although we may exercise editorial discretion to override this in some special cases.
  • Episodes: Still frame of acceptable quality which best represents the episode's plot or key characters in that episode.
  • TV Series: The most iconic and widely-recognized poster, preferably from the original airing of the first season. The poster should be of the best image quality. English language posters are preferred if available, although we may exercise editorial discretion to override this in some special cases.

If this is good enough advice for a primary poster image issue then following it for an episode image might seem in order.
The ONLY difference here is poster vs non poster. Pl;ease note the advice given as a whole. Especially the underlined describing replacing the existing image.

As I said, why waste staff time when you can do this yourself?

https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/images-videos/how-do-i-update-my-poster/GA8N34CWGUMJJM98#
Modifying an existing primary poster

Key points

  • Important: DO NOT ‘report’ the existing 'primary' poster – this image will automatically reorganize into the gallery as a non-primary poster.
  • Important: Only images uploaded with the aforementioned type "Poster" are eligible to become posters - the type cannot be changed once the image is live.
  • If the existing display poster is incorrect – you must request a new poster to replace the current image first. Submitting a request to delete the existing 'primary' poster, before the new one is live will result in your contribution being discarded.
