On my IMDB page when I click on awards it says that the film i won awards for is 'The Cause of Progress' https://www.imdb.com/name/nm8128740/awards?ref_=nm_awd this is not the film title, the title is 'A Cambodian Spring' this is incorrect information and should be corrected. The BAFTA nomination this year was not for The Cause of Progress, as your website currently states.

thanks,

Chris

Hi Chris,

Thank you for flagging this display issue. Whilst the correct film is being displayed - following the link does take you to the page for A Cambodian Spring - it appears that only the original title of the film is shown, instead of the new one.

The main BAFTA page itself is displaying correctly, see the image below;

I've raised this display issue with the appropriate team.

Regards

Jay

Hi Jay,

Thank you for the reply and help with this. This is actually going back to an old issue where a working title of the film has been used on IMDB instead of the actual release title. What you are referring to as the original title (The Cause of Progress) was never used as a release title and was never publicly published, so I would appreciate if the film entry page could be changed from 'original title' The Cause of Progress to 'working title' or even better remove it entirely, as it is actually factually inaccurate.

thanks,

Chris

Hi Chris,

We have reason to believe that the film first received a festival release in 2016 under the title The Cause of Progress, and so our policy dictates that we retain it as the film's original title.

We do display the film's more commonly known title at the head of it's page and on the main BAFTA page.

Thank you for your understanding.

Hi Jay,

as has been previously explained by myself and others, including a lawyer to your owners Amazon, the film that was shown in 2016 was a DIFFERENT film, with different characters and different scenes (with some overlap). What do I need to do to prove this to IMDB????

If IMDB staff bothered to do some research you would be able to find this information out quite easily, there are several film trailers available online that show the completely different content of the film you are claiming is the same. However IMDB has instead insisted on continuing to display inaccurate and untrue information, that has been damaging to the films sales and confusing to the general public and festival programmers who have not programmed the film because of your false information.

the information on my awards page is also still untrue, please see attached photo and amend.

Hi Chris -

It is our policy not to alter or delete any kind of correct/factual information or credit from our records. As Jay mentioned above we have reviewed your request and believe the information we have listed for the BAFTA award to be factual, as such we cannot change the title listing.

Hi Michelle,

according to your records, the BAFTA has been nominated for a film called  The Cause of Progress that was released in 2016. is that what you are saying? As this is what the page currently states (see the attached image in my previous post), yet on the official BAFTA website there is no mention of a project called The Cause of Progress. Only IMDB are insisting on using an incorrect title.

Can you confirm that you have viewed both A Cambodian Spring and The Cause of Progress and are 100% sure they are the same film? If you have not done this, can I ask what evidence you are basing your assumptions on? you are claiming that one is the original title of the other, that they are the same film, and i have informed IMDB repeatedly that this is not the case, they are DIFFERENT films with DIFFERENT characters and DIFFERENT stories. what do i need to do to prove this is the case?
