I'm trying to identify a movie title. Back prior to 1990, I watched a comedy movie about basic training in the Army, being perceived by me as a parody. A few years ago in 2015, I was working with a male telling me of a few stunts that he and others in in unit (after basic training) did that contained elements of that movie seen over twenty-five years before. When I mentioned to him that I recall seeing the movie (which apparently wasn't very popular -- there have been a lot of movies making fun of Army life and it didn't stand out) with a few of his little stories in it, he was surprised (no, he wasn't faking it.) The two elements that I recall are: 1) when the military vehicles were inspected, the hoods were raised to display an American flag, which subsequent rewriting of regulations addressed by eliminating the loophole; 2) when doing a war game, his team went and captured the other side's excellent chefs and high quality food (the other side having the better officers and treated to better privileges) during the night and had the better eats (allowed to do so according to the monitors) until the conclusion of the games (no mention by him concerning how his own side fared in the war simulation.)
