Arising from this discussion:https://getsatisfaction.com/imdb/topi... would be very useful if we had the ability to add comments to a list when you add the title to the list from the title's page.We can, in fact, currently do this in one case: Checkins. When you click on the button to add the title to a checkin it opens a box where you can add a comment. So the system required is already in place, all we need is to add it in three other circumstances on that page:* When you add something to your Watchlist from the big yellow button.* When you add a title to a list from the Watchlist drop down menu.* When you rate a title - something that would work with this suggestion:https://getsatisfaction.com/imdb/topi... able to do this would greatly increase the ease of working with your lists, otherwise you'd have to add the comment when you manually add the title on the list page or you add it on the title's page then you need to open up the list, hunt down the title (which might involve going through a number of pages) before you can add your comment. Both of which are much more time-consuming than the system being proposed.

I believe this is a great idea.

The beauty of it is that they no have the code to do this on the very page, so there shouldn't need to be much hassle adding it, making this suggestion a lit more viable than it would have been a month or so ago.

Another idea of implementing it without getting users that don't want to answer any additional suggestions (like "do you want to add a comment?") annoyed: A link can be added to a confirmation message "Item added" appearing after an item is added to the list in Watchlist dropdown. The link can lead to page (or popup) where comment is to be added.

The advantage of using the checkin popup is that if people ignore it for a period of time it closes itself. So if you rate a film and the box opens, all you need to do is scroll down the page and it will disappear - it isn't like one of the more hardwired popups that demand you click something to progress on.

I really like the way the checkins is done, so much so I want more.

I cannot understand why this hasn't been implemented yet!
