Adult Movie Actors/Actresses missing in search

Recently I noticed a problem when contributinf data. Normally when you add a Person as a credit to an entry and multiple persons with that exact name exist you get a list of all possible people with that name. Now I noticed that Porn Actors are missing from thoose results if other people with that name exist. For example if I try adding Tyler Steel as a credit I get the following:
We have these suggestions :- followed by a List of possible matches.
The problem is the only Tyler Steel in the suggestions this one http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3847154
The Adult Actor http://www.imdb.com/name/nm7275953  does not appear in the suggestions. On the normal site search results he also appears so this only happens when adding credits.
I know that I can work around that by typing Tyler Steel
(II)  but that would over complicate things when adding lots of data because you dont always know the roman numeral for the person you want to add. A couple of days ago they appeared just fine in the suggestions so It worked before not sure what happened. And yes Adult search results is turned on.
Also this only happens if multiple People with the same name exist on IMDb if the name is unique they appear just fine in the suggestions

Here are 2 more examples:

Kimber Lee (II)  http://www.imdb.com/name/nm7260160
only sugestion when addidng credits is Kimber Lee (III)
Lily Lane (I)  http://www.imdb.com/name/nm5658229
same problem

Also the search function when addign credits does not find adult actors when typing one of their alternate names. For example:
Bridgette B.  http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3087878
When you type Spanish Doll as a credit you want to add Bridgette B. does not appear as a credit suggestion even though its one of her already known alternate names on IMDb. All of theese things worked fine a few days ago which leads me to believe something has been changed or broke when updating a Site Feature.
Please fix this because this will lead to unneccesary double Entries for People because the search suggests creating another Entry entirely instead of people who are already known under that name. All of this only happens when adding Credits this does not happen with the normal Site Search Function.

Can anyone at least confirm if this is a bug or a change made on purpose?

I doubt you will get a reply with the current revelations rocking Hollywood.
Best you leave this degrading stuff alone and move onto more family friendly films.

I believe adult titles (and actors associated with them) are left out on purpose from ”search”. You probably have to enable adult titles/names in your searches. I’m not sure how to enable that option though.

Edit: From the official FAQ:

I have that option enabled and the Titles and Persons appear just fine when I search for them from the main Site. The problem is they dont appear in the contribution form when adding or editing titles. Also the strange thing is this only happens if multiple persons with the same name exist in the database if the Actor/Actress has a unique name they appear just fine.

Hi Valkyrslayer -

I'm just following up on this issue, our technical staff believe that the search is working correctly, to investigate further, can you confirm what specific title you were trying to add the information to when you experienced the problem?

Hi,

For example if I try to add a new episode for Brazzers Series Real Wife Stories http://www.imdb.com/title/tt6215002/  After I entered Title, air date on so on I try to add the Cast. In this example I try to add the Adult Movie Actor Steve Holmes as the first Cast Entry. Now when I press Re-Check theese Updates  I get the this (See Picture below). The Search is suggesting every Steve Holmes except the Adult Actor which is Steve Holmes (I) http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0392056/
The Only way I can get him to appear in the suggestions is if I specificly Type Steve Holmes (I)  with the roman numerals or his name ID from the Profile Link nm0392056. This only happens with Names that exist multiple Times on IMDb and have roman numbers to tell them apart. If I try to add lets say Johnny Sins he appears just fine in the suggestions. This leads to the problem that people who are not aware of this dont see said actor in the suggestions and add them as a new Entry. Alternate Names have the same problem. Example for Steve Holmes would be Chris Christof. If I enter Chris Christof as Cast Entry Steve Holmes (I) is nowhere to be found in the suggestions even though Chris Christof is registered as Alternate Name on his IMDb Profile.

Hi Valkyrslayer,

Thank you for your patience whilst this was being looked into, the search function is now working as intended, as you can see from the screengrab below when adding a credit to tt6215002 with the query 'Steve Holmes', the first result shown is nm0392056.

However, this will be different when adding a new title as the title will not yet have been reviewed by our data editors it will be unknown if the title is classified as adult and so the adult names will not display.

Thanks
Meredith

Thank You for the reply and the patience. Is this intentional with new titles or will it be fixed sometime in the future?

No this is intentional and won't be amended.
