Adding character name (again) This time Dirk Gentley

So, looking at the processing time, character casts should be Platinum so I'm guessing my change was rejected. I'm not sure why.

For Dirk Gently, someone added Jesse Lipscombe as Eddie Black but this is empirically untrue. Jesse Lipscombe isn't credited and Roger Cross (who I recognize from many previous serious) is Eddie Black. The system allowed me to delete the Jesse Lipscombe credit. However, Roger Cross still has no character name.

You can see from the Dirk Bently Wiki, that Roger is indeed Eddie Black. http://dirkgently.wikia.com/wiki/Eddie_Black

I'm more interested in why IMDb is not adding this update. I know they will fix the credit but why does this problem exist to begin with?

Hi Adrian -

Thanks for providing the submission details, I was able to see that the credit updates were not accepted because our editors were unable to verify the information and need further evidence.  If you have a screen grab to the on-screen credits for the "Space Rabbit" episode, please post it here and our staff can take another look.

I am not sure what "screen grab" you want me to provide. Roger Cross is part of the cast. All I want to do is give his character a name because it is currently blank! He is part of the recurring guest cast, so his credit in the episode appears as solely his name. I recognize him (in part because he has done a ton of SyFy shows) and he was named during the episode, so I added his character name in. There is literally nothing I can screen grab to prove this.

I have to wonder why this is different from the hundreds of other characters I've named for episodes.

Okay, some of the TV sites are finally picking up on his character's name.

This isn't perfect but here is some video evidence that Roger Cross is Eddie, Farrah Black's brother. (This wasn't easy to do since the captions disappear when you pause the DVR.)

This first picture is Farrah Black talking to the man in the blue coat. She calls him Eddie.

The man in the blue coat is Roger Cross. Thus, Roger Cross is Eddie. (I didn't capture the part where he talks about their dad and is thus her brother.)

I really would like an explanation as to why this has been so difficult. I have change hundreds of character names and it's only the last few weeks that some of the changes have not been accepted.

Hi Adrian -

Thank you for capturing and posting these screen grabs (and cleverly including the captions).  The credit has now been updated to include the missing character name, see here.

In general, when adding a missing character name to a cast member, while we are cautious when it involves top names and titles, this shouldn't be difficult; especially as we try to prevent missing data gaps (such as character names).  Rest assured that our editorial team has been alerted of this specific case for review to ensure that our review process and acceptance policies are being followed properly.   Thanks again for your feedback and contributions!
