Hi.

I need to clarify a few other things related to Awards. Perhaps this is clear to many, but I'm still asking.

1) There's an option to add "Company" with awards. Does this mean I have to add a company name if it's mentioned in the award list - or are we talking about some special award that is aimed at the company? Quite frankly it's not fully clear to me how the awards are usually listed (meaning, that is the company also listed or is it only listed with certain awards etc).

For example, I added a few "Music Video Production Association" (MVPA) Awards (not be confused with MTV Awards, btw) for David Finsher (mainly) based on this list:
https://www.videostatic.com/news/2013/05/31/dir

As you can see, his company "Reset" (it's actually "Reset Content", but anyway) is included/listed with the awards related to this music video. Is this company name (also) added when adding awards?

2) When do I have add the Attributes (when adding awards)? If the name of the award is something like "Best Director" or "Best Cinematography", do I still add attributes like "director" or "cinematographer" / "director of photography"? I mean usually (not always etc, I know that sometimes also music videos can have credits) there are no real credits with music videos, so I don't really know whether the person should be credited with an attribute "cinematographer" or "director of photography" to begin with.

3) Sometimes only the title (let's say, music video) is listed with awards. Meaning, that no director, producer(s) or company. In that case, is it even possible to add any of these awards?

Thanks.

Hi Eboy,

Sure, no problem.

1) Yes, if the company is mentioned on the official awarding body documentation for the listed award nomination/win, then the company should be added to the award nomination on IMDb as well. The nomination listed on https://www.videostatic.com/news/2013/05/31/dir would definitely qualify for a company addition.

2) I would only include the attribute for the name if it is listed on the official documentation - otherwise I'd leave it blank.

3) Music videos are eligible for title pages and should be added in their own right, but in the cases where the title is ineligible, you can add an award nomination with just the supplementary info listing the details. However we would always prefer to link the award nomination to a title, name or company if possible, and it is also listed on the official documentation.

I hope this helps.

Thanks,
Will
