ATS: Add the filter options to the sidebar of the search results

Lists come with some very fancy tools for filtering the items on the list, but go through to the advanced search: the ability to filter disappears, leaving a rather empty sidebar, when what someone might want to do at this point is filter for feature films as that is a hell of a lot of TV: via the main keywords you get a completely different set of results and options: get the same when, for example clicking on from genre lists: with the explore options you get a limit set of options: you could use it to create much more refined results without trying to go back to the advanced search results (as there isn't a handy link the one at the bottom of the list filters or a permalink link): You basically have half a dozen different sidebars offering different (or no) options and returning different results, often with no way to adjust the results or click back to the main search area.Solution: You need a relatively consistent set of sidebar filters, at least on the more dynamic search pages (as opposed perhaps to the static top level pages for genre and keyword, although an argument could also be made for linking straight to the dynamic search pages), with links on to the advanced search page, possibly with some contextual features - like the bit on the keyword's pages offering related keywords. Conclusion: This would not only simplify things for the user (who get predictable and actually useful page layouts) but it should also simplify the back end, which is running all sorts of different kinds of pages and must be a pain to update. Also: I've tagged a few other threads here which raise concerns over these kinds of problems (which have prompted me to boil it down to this one suggestion):

First, sorry for the belated response.
I hear you and really appreciate the detailed explanation. We hope to revisit this and make the sidebar filtering experience for advanced title and name search results more useful and predictable.
