I’m with you, Ray. The sort ‘by name’ option allowed you readily review your lists to see if an entry already existed if you wanted to make an addition. Why they removed that option is beyond me. Who remembers when the date an entry was made to the lists, I sure don’t keep track. With the present set of sort options, you have to scan the entire file to see if an entry is there. Whoever passed that change sure has a different perspective on things.

MAthePA -- I sure don’t know how you got that many drop-down options for a sort in your illustration. I only have 4 lists on my account, 3 of them are for people (actors/directors/actresses) and the last, favorite movies. Up until a couple years ago, I added/subtracted entries after sorting my lists alphabetically. It made life a whole lot easier maintaining my lists. Now, when I sign in and I'm presented with my lists, after I click into a specific list and go to the ‘Sort by’ box, the only option under the ‘List Order’ is ‘Date Added’. If I could see ‘Alphabetical’ as an option to choose from, I’d be in heaven brother.

The lists for people show no magic:

BTW, when editing any list we also have only two options to sort. It is very uncomfortable, indeed.
May be they just can not decide how it should be sorted: first names or surnames...

It’s sad that the folks who promote this website and want to draw patrons in don’t provide a quality product to them if they want to create lists to share with others. I’ve got several lists on this site that I haven’t been able to edit, simply because the webmasters took away the ‘name’ sort on lists. The only filter available in the drop down is ‘Date Added’. The ‘View’ option only gives you ‘Grid’ and ‘Detail’ views. And the ‘ascending’ and ‘descending’ arrows only sort the number assigned to the ‘Name’. If a person wants to add an actor say, and don’t know if that person already exists on the list, the only way to determine that is to scan the entire list, which in some cases could be over a 100 names. Sort by ‘Date Added’ provides no association to the alpha sequence to the file. Restore the sort by ‘Name’ option!!!
