Hi.
I'll try to explain how this idea can be argued to be included in almost all titles.

1970s MASH would be a period drama.

I'm Gonna Git You Sucka (1988) would be a period movie. Yes a comedy, but none the less a period movie.

And what...... are you gonna leave this next movie "Out" because it is a dramedy, when it clearly "IS" a period movie?

Shakespeare in Love (1998)????

And what about those movies made in the 1920s through the 1970s? Those while made in real time, are now of a "Period" gone by.

Conclusion: Good Idea......but no way to categorize it. And I get your meaning. You are referring to pretty much the era before 1700. But there is no real way to exclude a 1920s era period flick that would be made in 2020, or a Japanese period piece from the 1850s, but exclude an 1850s Western, now would there?
