Actors in my Documentary listed as "Self" and should be listed as "Actors"

Hi - A while ago, I submitted a documentary movie called "Science, Sex and the Ladies." I noticed that the all the actors I added are listed in their own pages for this movie as "Self." Researching why, I found that IMDB automatically lists actors in docs as themselves. However, this is a unique type of documentary, and all the actors are actually playing roles. No one in this movie appears as him or herself. It's an ensemble cast, and I'd like to change all 30 or so of them to be in the category "actor" with their cast name (most of which is ensemble cast member). How would I go about doing that?

Also, I see that I can add the keyword Reenactment, but these actors are not actually in reenactments. There are no reenactments in this movie. Like I said, it's a kind of special case, but I'd like them to be credited correctly.

Charles: I understand that these scenes may not be reenacting actual events, but reenactment is indeed the keyword you should use here if the documentary has actors portraying characters. It's a specialized keyword on IMDb. The only other alternative I can think of is to remove the Documentary genre from your film.

Thanks for the reply gromit82. I guess putting the reenactment keyword is my only option. However, the only info I found on this subject simply said to add that keyword, nothing said where I should add that keyword? It doesn't look like there is a space in the Cast and Crew edit area to add it on each individual actor. If it's not added to each individual, will the addition of the reenactment keyword automatically move every actor in the movie from "self" to "Actor/Actress." Again, thanks for the help.

Charles: The place to add keywords is the Plot Keywords section for the title as a whole -- not to the entries for each actor. For your film, that would be http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2459240/keywords , although you don't happen to have any keywords listed for your film yet. As long as you are adding the reenactment keyword, you can, if you like, also submit other relevant keywords that refer to important aspects of your film. See http://www.imdb.com/updates/guide/keywords for the guide to keywords.

The addition of the reenactment keyword will automatically move every cast member in the movie from "Self" to "Actor/Actress" if the person has a character name listed for the film and their character name as listed does not begin with "Himself" or "Herself". If there is anyone in your film who actually is appearing as themselves, make sure that their character name as listed does begin with "Himself" or "Herself".

Good luck!
