Ms. Marie:

Those credits are there because when you recently requested to have your name changed to "Amanda Marie" you were warned that we already listed an actress named "Amanda Marie" and you were told that your request would cause your credits to be merged with Amanda Marie's existing filmography and you were prompted to confirm that this was correct, which you did.

Are you now saying that this is not the case?

Please clarify your request so we can take the necessary actions/corrections.

Yes but I also asked in the beginning if there are credits that do not belong to me on if they can be removed and was prompted yes and how I could remove them. So I did that. I have a lot of friends on IMDB with same names as others and there's have I, II, III, etc behind their names. They did not make it with that but rather it was added to their name when they created the change as well due to divorce. I am not understanding why I am having issues when no one else that I know have had any issues that have same names as others. I was under the impression that mine would act exactly as the many other actor friends that I have with IMDB pages. I see now that it is not the case. Please advise what I should or need to do. All of the films that I am in now, in pre production, and in post production are all listed as "Amanda Marie". Thank you for your time.

FYI,

Re: "friends with same names...and [theirs] have I, II, III, etc."

Yours would too if you'd have checked the correct box to create a new name instead of add your credits to someone who is not you (which, as Giancarlo mentioned, causes a merge with a list of credits where yours don't belong).

I did exactly as the others to create a new name and just did the submission to correct the name. i will leave it in the hands of the official rep on this comment post to help me on this since they actually work for IMDB to correct the issue. thank you for your help however.

It won't let you proceed without checking one from the list because you are either one of the names listed or a new name, there could be no other option. Further, Giancarlo can see your submission with the "merge it to so and so" selection made. As I said, it's for your information. I just wanted to clarify and explain why something different happened with your friends. Also, you'll get that same type of list each time you enter a credit and enter in a name. The database wants to put the credit in the right place. So it'll show you same/similar names or a allow a new name (assigning a Roman Numeral if it's same spelling, to keep them unique).

You're welcome.

It would help if you could go over your credits and identify which credits belong to you and which don't. For your credits, please also let us know which is the name that was credited on-screen (if different from Amanda Marie) so our editors will be able to find/verify it more easily if/when checking against on-screen credits.

You should stop resubmitting, as that is a guaranteed way to slow down a submission.

Ms. Marie:

Please do not resubmit deletions. They will be ignored.

The credits are not wrong and don't need to be deleted -- they are just on the wrong page.

They belong to an actress also named Amanda Marie. They ended up on your page as a result of names being incorrectly merged. In order to separate the names we'd appreciate if you could confirm which credits belong to you and which don't, and how you were credited in each one of your entries (since you have used several names).

Thank you.

That is what I am saying. On that reference it shows the ones that do not belong to me. I even put that on the notations that they do no belong to me. All of that is on that reference number I stated on my last comment. Everything else is correct on my page. Only the ones listed on that reference number that state these do not belong to me are the ones to be removed.

Amanda: I think it would be helpful if you stated the titles that belong to you straight out.

Here are the credits on the Amanda Marie page:

2014 Blood Reunion 2: Madeline -- as Jynx
2014 Days Gone By -- as Angela
2014 The Town That Dreaded Sundown -- as Stewardess and High School Student
2013 Allegiance of Powers (TV series) – Meeting of Powers (2013) -- as KC
2013 Dallas (TV series) – JR's Masterpiece (2013) -- as Petroleum Club Member
2012/I Lilith (short) -- as Sarah
2012 Indiana James and the Raiders of the Lost Shaker of Salt -- as Flight Attendent Willie
2011 We All Fall Down (short) -- as ?
2010 Quitting -- as Girl Outside Hospital (uncredited)
2007 The Parallel -- as Belly dancing gypsy (uncredited)
2006 Hoodlore (short) -- as ?

Please post the list saying which ones from the above list were yours. Don't ask the staff to look at another list you sent in at another time -- just post the entire list of which of the above credits are yours right here in this discussion.

Also, if for any of the above films that you worked on, you were listed in the credits under a different name than "Amanda Marie", please say which film it was and what name was listed for you in the credits.

I hope this helps. Good luck!

2013 Dallas (TV series) – JR's Masterpiece (2013) -- as Petroleum Club Member
2007 The Parallel -- as Belly dancing gypsy (uncredited)

THESE NEED TO BE REMOVED:
2012/I Lilith (short) -- as Sarah

Amanda: Here is my recommendation on how to fix this. Since the other Amanda Marie had her first movie earlier than you did, and was listed on IMDb under that name first, I recommend that you take roman numeral II to be Amanda Marie (II). This is not an indication of importance, just chronology -- ask Amy Adams (III), Emma Watson (II), or Emma Stone (III), all of whom are the famous people with those names.

Go to the page at http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3406342/re.... You will notice that there is also a producer credit there for "Quitting," which I assume was the other Amanda Marie because she was in that film. Click "Edit page".

On the next screen, on the Actress Credits line, select "Correct/Delete". Scroll down and click "Continue".

On the next screen, you will see the combined acting credits for you and the other Amanda Marie. On all the lines for your films and shows, select "Correct" in the drop-down box at the left -- that would be "Allegiance of Powers", "Dallas", Blood Reunion 2: Madeline, Days Gone By, The Parallel, and The Town That Dreaded Sundown. Leave all the other lines as "Keep". Then, at the lower right of the list of credits, check the box marked "Show name?". Click "Check these updates".

On the next screen, you will see that you can edit the name associated with your credits. On the credits that are yours, add a (II) after the name each time so it will say:
Marie, Amanda (II)

Also, check the box marked "provide an explanation to assist in processing this change" each time. Click "Check these updates".

On the next screen, there will be an Explanation box under each of your credits. In that box, enter the same thing each time, something like "I am Amanda Marie and I played this role. I am submitting this correction to separate my credits from those of another actress also named Amanda Marie, who is a different person."

Below that, for each credit, there will be a list of people with similar names. Every time, select the last option on the list: "This is a different person not currently listed - create 'Marie, Amanda (II)'."

Also, for your "Allegiance of Powers" role, there will be a separate warning that says, "The character name consists entirely of uppercase characters. This is relatively uncommon (aside from abbreviations) so please reconsider the current format if appropriate." Check the box marked "Warning understood, go ahead anyway."

Click "Re-check these updates".

On the next screen, all your credits should appear with a green background except for the one for "The Parallel", which will have a warning that says, "New names without on-screen credits may not be added. In general, we require at least one on-screen credit before accepting uncredited appearances." Check the box marked "Warning understood, go ahead anyway." Click "Re-check these updates".

On the next screen, all your credits should appear with a green background and you should be able to click "Submit these updates".

Allow a few days for the correction to be made. Good luck!

Why did you post this in two places? Please see your other thread. When you post in separate places, separate people might be giving the same answers, not knowing it's been addressed. It wastes peoples' time and can get confusing (as if this all wasn't confusing enough).

This sounds like some of the changes are still going through - not being able to find them and/or there being a mismatch between the different ways of viewing the data are all pretty clear indications that you need to give it a couple of days to allow everything to sort itself out.

If you only submit these changes 8 days ago it might take another 3-4 days, but usually those kind of changes caught in limbo resolve themselves pretty quickly.
