Searching for title of a movie from the '80s, American. I saw it—or part of it—on TV, so I suppose it could've been a TV Movie, theatrically released, or released straight to video.

I only remember one scene so there's not much to go on!

In the scene, they visit a guy in a room that's possibly in Chinatown. The large room is either a restaurant, a club, or is undergoing construction work (or maybe just has overhead spotlights?).

It's just him in the room, so the restaurant or whatever isn't open at the time. He is Chinese American. He owns/manages the venue. He may be a gangster or simply an entrepreneur business owner.

The lead characters ask him something, mentioning the story/parable 'of the pot', which is some Chinese folklore story, at least it is in the movie. He responds to say he's familiar with the tale: "I know the story of the pot", or similar wording.

The other characters are pursuing some kind of mystery or treasure hunt maybe, and had learnt of the story somehow.
