I would like to start seeing more information in the Tech Specs of a movie's page with regards to the 3D. For instance: 1) Native or Conversion or Hybrid (Native and Conversion). 2) 3D Rigs used if Native and 3D Company used if Conversion. This would be incredibly helpful.

3D Cinema is here to stay, and the inclusion of this information would be great for filmmakers to know more about a productions tech side.

Hi there

We concur! More information of this type would surely be great for filmmakers and moviegoers alike.

It seems people just don't submit 3D information as much as other technical information. I suppose this is compounded by the exclusive pricing of 3D equipment, limiting the number of 3D movies made to mostly blockbusters (I understand we're seeing a shift nowadays, however).

Did you know you can submit this information under our 'Technical Info' section? The yellow 'Edit page' button at the bottom of every movie's page will present you with the various categories of data, and you will see the heading 'Technical Info'.

For native we list the various rigs used under the 'Camera' section, e.g. 'Paradise FX 3D Rigs'.

For conversion company, the 'Laboratory' section might be a good place to add this information.

We also have technical sections for 'Apect Ratio', where filmmakers add things like 'Stereoscopic 3D' and 'Cinematographic Process', where people add information like 'Deep Vision 3D'.

We also have a submission guide here: http://www.imdb.com/updates/guide/technical if it helps.

Thanks for raising this with us.
