Updated Strike Pro Editor for Mac OS Catalina is missing a dialog box for new instrument type

When attempting to edit an instrument in the Editor, the dialog box supposedly to select what type of instrument to create, as indicated in Editor manual, doesn't appear and therefore you can't create a Hi-Hat Pedal or Hi-Hat Cymbal!

See image below where it's indicated such dialog in the Editor Manual:

Then when you click on File/New option, it doesn't show such dialog and therefore doesn't allow the creation of HiHat Pedal/Cymbal instruments.

It only advises that your existing instrument will be lost and when clicking "Yes", it remains in the window without even refreshing the instrument screen.

The bottom pic shows your in Instrument mode, pedal..and a Factory/Preset sin file has been selected with the velocity ranges showing.
How did you get there if you didn't select it.
By default when the Editor starts it's in Kit Mode.
When you switch to Instrument Mode the Instrument mode starts with Single instrument and editing windows are empty not Hi hat pedal with a preset selected.
sin files don't automatically appear in the editing box with velocities ranges showing unless selected...if they do , then there may be a problem.

The "you will lose unsaved changes box" is automatic if you edited, didn't save as new instrument or leaving the window.
You cannot change samples/edit/overwrite/save Factory presets they are write protected..they will be saved as a new User instrument (sin) or Kit (skt) file.

When you click New to create a new instrument the warning box appears, if you don't want to save the current instrument click yes..after the warning box closes a new box should automatically open..with a drop down menu for selecting a single..HH cymbal...HH pedal.

Doesn't work.

Please test it by yourself on MacOS Catalina with version 1.1.3. Doesn't matter if you switch from Kit to Instrument back and forth or if you already have an instrument (like HH or single). Every time that you click NEW, and replying "YES" to the warning message there is no new window or dialog showing what type of instrument do you want to create. Simple as that. Even more, it doesn't refresh the screen so the old stuff in there remains which is so confusing. Honestly, is not the best editor, neither as intuitive as it should be.

On top of that, I don't get the point why while preparing the instrument, not the kit, let say with my own sample, I need to stick close and connected to drum module instead of doing at my desk and only working with SD card. This will be more productive. So when samples and instrument definitions are done and saved in SD card, then I can go to the module with SD and finish the Kit elaboration. At least, the editor should provide the option to work "offline" for the purpose of building the samples and instruments, because if I do need to modify a preset, no matter what it also has to be copied in SD.

So, let's say, if I want to update or modify one, I can go to the module with laptop, select those one, move it to SD, disconnect the module and laptop, go to my desk, work on the samples, values, pedal, etc, etc, save the instrument and then when done, just grab the SD updated and put it back in the module. Wouldn't be more easy and comfortable than doing it in a rush connected to the drum module. And by the way, no all of us may have a notebook to go and connect the drum module for hours working on the editor, because, unfortunately the process is soooo manual... that you need time until you may get something decent done with your Kits.

Please, folks, this is not a $100 dollar product to have such tool. It has to be improved and offer a complete solution and better user experience.

It should definitely allow for offline but it would need ALL samples from the internal memory if you were to work with The factory presets. Even though it says it’s loading samples and instruments I doubt it’s copying all of them to a separate location. On the computer because it would be too large and It would take 10 times longer than it already takes. However, if you using input of multi samples from another program and that’s ALL you were intending to work with to create NEW instrument then it should absolutely let you work off-line with your SD card but otherwise it Hass to be connected to the module to get to the samples

May you please explain to me how I suppose to create the instrument without the editor opening if the module is not connected? Because Editor doesn't open without the USB connected to the module.

On the other hands, I know that if I want to work with internal sounds, I need to move them to SD, but I'm interested to do my own samples and therefore, before using them, I need to create the instrument file, with velocities ranges by using the editor.

It doesnt work without the module. , It was only a request to alesis. "Should" means sometime in the future if Alesis chooses to develop that. Otherwise, I've used the editor extensively. I've got great samples from multiple VSTs but while it is very slow and cumbersome, it gets the job done!

So - can someone take me back a step?

Last I checked - there was no Catalina support for the Strike Editor.

This has changed? Is the Strike Editior now (finally) officially available for the prevailing version of the Mac OS?

Can someone please share the link with me,

Many thanks!!
