I have the alesis strike kit (8 piece) and have everything plugged in where it should be..however I'm not getting any sound coming out through my headphones and on the screen of the module, there is a red ring around the drum pads. so assuming something is not plugged in right? i tried factory resetting and nothing. any advice? thank you

What version OS? There are 2..
Under Utility > OS > DSP OS and Trigger OS..
Normally they match...current versions are v1.5

The Red ring around the pads may be an indication there is no Trigger OS..it has a problem or it wasn't completely installed or interrupted during initial installation,an update..a Trigger backup etc etc.

You could try reinstalling.
If it's a New Kit I would just reinstall and get a fresh start.

If you have settings you want to keep do a backup of those before reinstalling.
If the problem remains , the module may need servicing.

yea not getting any sound from the kit...I actually sold the kit to a friend so when he hooked it up this was what he was running the problem with..tried factory reset and all. I have always used the kit through Superior drummer 3 and didn't really play on the stock drums. he isn't going to be recording with it anytime soon just something to play around. I got him the links ^ you sent for the download upgrade and hopefully that fixes any issues..he lives over 1200 miles away so i unfortunately can be there to see everything but looked like he had everything hooked up right.
