Q25 Midi Out not working with Bluetooth adapter

Hi I am trying to use the Q25 with a Yamaha md-bt01 Bluetooth adapter plugged into the midi out.
The adapter is not working/showing a flashing red light,as it should, when I power up the q25 with a power adapter.
Is there something about the midi out that prevents it from allowing power to such a Bluetooth adapter eg not all pins are connected??
The adapter works with other midi keyboards I own but not Q25.
This is a question for your technical dept.
Thankyou

Hi Jeremy,

Thanks for posting.

I'm not familiar with the Bluetooth adapter that you're using, but the MIDI port will work when the controller is connected via USB. Have you tried talking with Yamaha about this, and if so, what were you told?

Thanks for the reply Bill
Yes the midi port will work as such when the q25 is connected to usb , as in it will send midi through a cable. However, it does not power the Yamaha Bluetooth adapter. Lots of my other keyboards do power the adapter from the midi port eg Korg Wavestation , Akai Miniak and Novation X station so it is something about the Q25's midi setup that prevents it from powering the adapter. I am wondering if perhaps it doesn't supply the full 5 volts of the original midi spec or if the centre pin that supplies power is unconnected internally?
This is a question for your technical dept :
Does the Q25 supply 5 volts or only 3.3 volts to the midi port?
If it is 5 volts , then is the centre midi pin ( the one that supplies power) connected.
If I know the answer to these than I can ask Yamaha about whether the adapter requires 5 volts. Until then, the question is moot.
Thankyou for your interest .
