In an earlier post, the question about a song list like the one on the Beat Buddy website was posed and remained unanswered. Is there a list that someone has created with song titles and possible drum patterns (i.e. Honky Tonk Woman pattern 13 / speed 120?
This would be very helpful for guitarists using the SR 18 for live performances and practice.

Great to see the interest. I'm still putting the list together, may take a few weeks as I pick at it every day. I will let everyone know when it's available.

Hi Gerry... I think we are all in the same bind.... i am struggling just to try to match my drum sounds with my Zoom Drum machine. Would you also include me with your list you are complaining. It would help so much.
One thing I did notice... after 10 seconds one of the two drum machines starts to lag and is out of beat with each other. I guess not all drum machines are constant with their beat.

Okay... I've completed a list of 545 songs, that I've performed with different folks/groups over the years. It's in Excel format, but I plan on copying/pasting the data into Word format as well. I've designated the PRESET patterns with just the pattern number and the USER patterns with the prefix "U" in front of the pattern number. These are all "my spin" on what I've determined to be the correct patterns, so they can be used as a "guideline" and may help you determine a better suited pattern yourself. Some songs show several patterns... you judge which is best for your style. Also, I show some patterns with both versions (e.g. 24A/B) showing that either or both versions can be used (e.g. verse/chorus). Some pattern are designated with a slash (e.g. 24A-B) showing that you can progress from one version to the other with some songs that migrate to a more upbeat feel. Some songs can be played with different tempos, depending on the pattern and I've given them a separate line to show that, while some others can be played in different tempos with the same patterns, usually doubled (e.g. 66/132). I can't see any way of posting that file here, so feel free to email me and I will send you my list.

Thanks Gerry, please send me your list to I been going over the different presets and could really use your list. I'm hoping there are a few good ballad, shuffle, rock, country and blues presets I can use. I did manage to turn off that random bass line, too bad you can't change the key on the fly... thanks again

This list is a great resource, thank you.
I don't know why Alesis doesn't have the programmers notes to what songs each of the patterns are based on.
I kind of gave up using it and just bought a dual looper,

Hey guys, there anybody here who can tell me how to edit patterns...EASILY? Say you use a certain beat for "A", how about copying "A" to "B" for a chorus of a song...but maybe change the hi-hat to a ride cymbal in "B" to give the song you're performing live a little more realistic feel? Or, change a rim to a snare...or a few things like that.
One more do you record fills, or different fills for songs/patterns? Boy, I just cannot get the hang of it. (I just bought my THIRD SR18..sold it twice to buy a TRIO Plus..but had no luck with that either).
Thank you very much, men.

Tommy. I just bought a SR 18 and I'm having somewhat of the same problem. I'm made some beats on the "User" pattern and I'm trying to add "fills" to the pattern A that will transition to pattern B smoothly. When I hit the "fill" button (going from A to B) it works fine, but when I hit the fill button again (going back to A) the drums go silent for about 5-5 seconds before it "kicks-in". I'm wondering if you or anyone else has had this problem. It's probably "operator error" on my part....... Thanks- Jerry Smith at
