Is it possible to assign different midi tracks to the VI25 on ableton? (For example, a drum track to the pads + 4 of the knobs and their respective buttons below; and a synth track to the keys + the wheels + the other 4 knobs and their respective buttons?) How can I do it? Thanks!

Hello, Luis

Thanks for posting!

Sure! You need to use the VI25 editor. There you can assign the MIDI channel for the knobs, pads, switches, wheels, etc....Then you have to go into Ableton and assign your MIDI Tracks to receive MIDI on specific channels.

For example, if you map your pads to send out on MIDI Channel 10. You have to SEND this preset to the controller. Then, make sure you have this preset selected on your controller with the onboard knobs. Once this is done, open a MIDI track in Ableton, and choose Channel 10 on the MIDI Input drop-down menu of the Ableton track.

Do the same for the other parts of the keyboard.

Hope this helps!
