How to adjust time signatures on SR18?

I just bought the SR18 for our Church Praise Team. I play drums, however, I am wanting to play some guitar on certain songs and we do it have a back up drummer. So I thought this might be the answer. However, I am not understanding how to change the time signature. For instance if I am working with Rock 31 U24, it's 4/4 time. Is it possible to take that and make it a 6/8 or 3/4? Why couldn't Alesis just have a section under edit that had the time signatures and you could just switch beteeen them. The manual doesn't help at all. Any assistance appreciated.

Hi Tony,

Thanks for posting.

In order to change the time signature, you will need to do so prior to recording a pattern. Follow these steps below:

  1. Press the Record Setup button.
  2. Use the Page button to navigate to Page 7. This will adjust the upper value or a number of beats in the meter of the selected pattern; for instance, the 2 of a 2/4 time signature.
  3. Enter the value with the INC/DEC number buttons or the Value dial.
  4. Press Rec to accept the change.
  5. Once you're satisfied with these adjustments, go to page 8. This will allow you to adjust the lower note value of the meter.
  6. Enter the value with the INC/DEC number buttons or the Value dial.
  7. Press Rec to accept the change.
  8. Press Record Setup again to exit.

I hope this helps!
