Getting Started with a QX49-Help

A friend just gave me the Alesis QX49. I have a Win 8.1 machine, Presonus AudioBox 1818VSL audio interface with MIDI input/output, and Cakewalk DAW software. I have no manual or cords with it. I plugged a USB cord into my computer but I'm assuming I need a MIDI cord to plug it into my Presonus audio interface to hear and record any kind of sound out of it because I've disabled my internal computer sound card.. Then what? What driver do I need? I poked around the knowledge base and searched "QX49 set up" and didn't see anything. I'll look up the manual and see if I can something going with that. I have absolutely NO experience with MIDI. I'm mostly and acoustic percussion player. Thanks for any help
