Getting a used VI49 today, where to start

So today I am pulling the trigger on getting my first midi keyboard because I have found a disgusting deal. $50 with a keyboard stand from a guy who buys and resells stuff from storage unit auctions. I figure at that price worst case scenario I can reflip it.

SO because of this I know its not coming with any software or honestly anything other than the power cable and usb cable (which is a nice touch for it being so cheap)

I used reaper in my studio, I know how to set it up so reaper can read midi though I have never used midi

I have googled my head off but I figure I would go for gold and ask a group who could shoot me the right answer quickly... when I bring the keyboard home will I just need to search alesis for the drivers (not to be lazy but if anyone has a direct link so I don't pull up the wrong thing I wont complain) other than that do I really need to do anything else?

additionally I know reaper comes with their own synth but does anyone have any leads to a couple free or cheap virtual instruments to noodle on until I can research some nicer quality sounds. I normally play rock, blues, or metal but I want to expand my skill set into electronic music as well as possible beat production for local rap and r&b groups if that helps you decide what instruments or plugins to suggest

any and all help is appreciated! Thank you

You never know until you try registering it...I have purchased used gear from people who thought they were interested in music...then lost interest, meanwhile not realizing it came with software or even bothering registering it.
The VI49 is Class Compliant (plug n play) so there isn't any drivers to download.

Don't forget to download the editor and User Guide

When I pick the thing up, is it safe to assume the codes would be on the bottom or is there somewhere specific I should look? Because you are right, it could be a blessing in disguise.

I did download those already, I figured it was all I needed since I wasn't able to find anything else like a specific driver.

I have picked a few up off vst4free but I wasn't sure if anyone had any hidden gems or things they swear by before I go through to process of weeding through a butt ton to find some I like. I think I may actually already have the NI products but thank you for the spitfire audio link! I will check that out right now
